Kilgore, I take it that you didn't hear about Halle's acceptance speech of her Oscar in which she thanked everybody in the world including the man in the moon.
natalie. portman. end of discussion. p.s. if the only movies you've ever seen her in are the Star Wars movies, don't even respond. go immediately to your local neighborhood video rental establishment and procure The Professional. watch it 3 times and then respond. others just for kicks. . . olivia williams sandra bullock kate hudson robin wright penn catherine mccormack sophie marceau julia ormond [ooh wow, an oldie but goodie] bridget moynahan jennifer garner oh, damn. now I'm just thinking of hot actresses. wahoo!
My favs: 5) Cameron Diaz 4) Halle Berry (she's a very good, if somewhat low-key actress, and she IS that hot!) 3) Hilary Swank 2) Elizabeth Shue (hasn't done a whole lot, but really does it for me) 1) Julia Roberts Some that were hard to eliminate: Rene Russo, Kim Basinger, Annete Bening, Jenifer Connelly, Kate Beckinsale, Ashley Judd....and one that most people won't like, but I think can bring quite a bit of presence to the screen if she didn't pick such crappy roles: Angelina Jolie A few that I don't think are all that great actresses, but sure turn me on anyway: Winona Ryder, Liz Hurley, Penelope Cruz (down boy!), and Andie MacDowell A few that have that may have been hot in their younger years, but are too good of an actress to not mention: Susan Sarandon (she's so awesome; I love strong women), Meryl Streep, and Francis McDormand. And last but not least, I'll always have a special place in my heart for Meg Ryan.
First thought that came to my mind was Diane Lane. I think she is very cute and very talented. She hasn't always had the best roles in the best movies. But, she is one of the first to come to my mind. Surf
She is tops. I also like Barbara Hershey verrrrrry much... Halle Berry has to be just about the most precious thing on the planet.
Let's see: Reese Witherspoon Diane Lane Thandie Newton Jennifer Anniston Ali Larter (even though she ain't the greatest actress)
Go on get started on why she won the award. If you don't think this is thaaat hot... Then I'd like your definition.
Natalie Portman is hot now, but she was only 13 when she made that film. By any chance, were you living near drapg up until last month? One name I haven't seen listed is Cate Blanchett. But I basically think most actresses are hot (with some notable exceptions), so give me some pictures of good actresses and I'll probably be smiling. why do I have the feeling that this thread is about to be bombarded with pictures of Judi Dench and Kathy Bates
Other names that no one else has brought up yet (surprisingly): 1) Jennifer Connelly 2) Juliette Binoche (that Chocolat chick) 3) Juliette Lewis (so underrated) 4) Elizabeth Hurley (a small stretch) 5) Rachel Weisz 6) Kim Basinger 7) Megan Ward (loved her in Dark Skies on NBC) 8) Kate Winslet 9) Kristy Swanson (a stretch, I know) 10) Anna Paquin (a stretch in the looks department, but she won an Oscar) 11) Christina Ricci (also a stretch in the looks department, but boy can she act!) 12) Aaliyah (another stretch)
whoever voted for estella warren and jennifer love hewitt wins in my book! neither are particularly good actresses...but gosh darn it, they try really hard!
I can't really comment too much on her acting ability because I am a poor judge of that, but I saw Halle Berry's acceptance speech at the Oscars and was kinda puzzled by it. She, along with the announcers and everybody in the media, made a big deal about how she was the first black woman to win the award. Then they showed her mother and she was white. I don't want to turn this into a race thread at all, but why is she considered black if she is only half black? She's equally half white. Shouldn't she be commended for being the first person "part-black" to win the award? I guess I have the same problem with how Tiger Woods is portrayed. I am a big fan of both Tiger and Halle, btw.
Very good question. I'm half black, too, but I've only met 2 people my whole life that could tell upon meeting me. It's almost impossible to tell with Halle, too. I think they go more on skin color than actual heritage. You are really "white", "black", or "obviously mixed". She falls under black.
