Jeez, people on the bbs are insanely harsh on all movies, i thought the movie was good and entertaining. If anything if you were entertained then it did its job, thats what movies are for...to many people walk out of movies now a days and start tearing movies apart for little crap that might of seemed incorrect. Not saying you guys in particular, but just seems to happen, everytime i walk out of a movie i hear people ripping movie apart.
Hostel: not that gory, not that good. Man, was I disappointed. I wonder what the fine critics at rottentomatoes.com were smoking to lavish this movie with such good reviews. Granted, the t&a count was pretty high, but overall this movie blows. The guy who editing the fantastic trailer should win an Oscar.
For reasons that elude me, the director of Hostel, Eli Roth, is the darling of the horror world right now. I found his first movie Cabin Fever to be pretty pointless unless you like watching people die of a flesh-eating disease. I think it's mostly due to how much of an entertaining interview he is and his vast knowledge of horror movies.
not to bump an old thread, but i just watched this.... i saw the unrated version.... not that gory? this was pretty bad... even after seeing faced of death.
Best American horror movie (not ripped off of a Japanese movie which all successful american horror movies seem to be these days) I've seem in a long time. Give it the credit it's due.
I swear to God when I saw this movie, at the part Jay Hernandez's character is laying with the pile of bodies trying to reach for his severed finger, I ran out and puked everywhere on the way to the bathroom. Not even scary. Just completely and utterly disgusting.

*spoiler* **gore alert** im not sure if in the rated theater version they showed this, but at one point paxton runs in to save kana and her eye is hanging out of her skull. he has to cut it it off, so he does and yellow/white puss comes oozing out... that part was pretty sick.
SAW is actually a lot better than hostel. there was a lot of conicidence at the end of hostel like how the guy randomly saw those girls and manu ginobili and ran them over.... the only thing good about the move are all the jugs and hot women...
Pfff..you guys are ridiculous, I don't go to movies to critique them, I go for entertainment. Wolf Creek was entertaining imo.
so you never thought a movie was bad? almost everyone goes to a movie and crtiques it at the end. saying "wolf creek was entertaining" qualifies as critquing a movie
You're right Ichi the Killer is awesome....I would highly recommend all Takashi Miike films....my personal fav is Battal Royale
I have had some movies I was really disappointed with , but I rarely go see movies...because of the fact most arent going to be worth the price of admission. I thought wolf creek looked decent, and from what I saw felt it was. Apparently I'm in the minority here...
