He has been moving around with human shields as per ABC video reports. One guy causing this kinda chaos/panic...is ridiculous.

Hopefully they don't kill him so they can proceed with interrogations techniques.

I wonder who killed the hostages? Given the fact they went in, he might have been shooting them.

Dude tried to run at 2:06am and the gunman opened fire, so they stormed the building.

They had snipers in place an hour after this all began...

I'm wondering if the police blundered.

some conflicting news on how the shootout began.

the crazy iranian cleric started to fall asleep so the hostages ran for it then the gunman started shooting.

another news source reported he executed the male manager of the cafe and then started to assault others.

Cafe was former site of a bank. The thickness of the glass windows were the length of a writing pen.

It is being said the man was dozing off so the 34 year old male hostage struggled for his weapon, which resulted in him being shot and killed - sparking the police to rush the building.

I personally, don't understand how you can let a violent criminal stay in the country (LET ALONE ON BAIL) after he sends letters to the families of soldiers killed overseas basically laughing at them. But that might just be my pent up anger having formally been in the Infantry.

Just a terrible, terrible situation which could've been avoided completely.

And there's people in the Police and Military who no doubt go through scenarios like this at a rather constant rate to keep their qualifications as a Sniper. Why weren't they put to use?

There's photos of him standing alone in the open inside that cafe with no human shield. How did the police think this was going to end all rosy with him walking out after he came to the sudden realisation what he was doing was wrong?

Whilst I don't want to blame the police for this and be an armchair critic, it brings about the question as to why lethal force wasn't used and pre-empt this, saving those hostages lives.

Banks don't have bullet proof windows on the exterior.

You would probably know better than I would, *but* if the glass is as thick as people are claiming, I would think it doesn't have to be bullet proof to basically ruin the trajectory. I assume the shot gets less and less "clean" with thicker and thicker glass.
