Is this thread asking who's had the better career, or who we'd rather be? Not the same answer in my case.

Are you kidding? Barkley can throw assholes out of plate glass windows and still be a fan favorite. He's beloved. Plus, I tend to like people that are immune to indifference. People seem to either love Barkley or hate him. You just can't be indifferent towards him. I like that in people.

Yeah. I'm one of those people. :(

Horry, no question. To able to say you won more rings than Jordan and played in more playoff games than everybody else in the history of basketball is quite a statement.

As for the Barkley "post retirement" advantage, I don't buy that either. Look at some of the prominent ex-player NBA analysts out there: Jon Barry, Legler, etc. If you're intelligent, respected and articulate like these guys are you can easily have a broadcasting career as well.

It's not all luck, bro. Horry has made a living, and a name, on hitting huge 3's in the playoffs. It's not totally incidental that he has all those rings. His play has something to do with it....

Oh, and he threw a towel in Danny Ainge's face. Bonus points for that, too! :D

STUPID question, HORRY of course! Go out as a Champion! Hall of fame with no rings means "0". STock and Malone......

Go ask Barkley that question... would you swop for HOrry

horry may hae the rings, but nobody will remember him if you ask the general fan.

barkley is arguably a top 3 pf of all time and one of the greatest to ever played the game. i want to be remembered as one of the greatest to step on the court. barkley is an all-timer.

if you want to win, mark madsen has 3 rings

barkley didn't make as much money in his nba career as other guys of ilk. i think he took less money so he could have chances to win. someone posted barkley's career earnings and it was like 45 mil from the nba.

    Horry, most definitely.

He played in a better era(salary wise) than Barkley. he sleeped walk through entire regular seasons, and yet he makes a ton of jack based on his "clutchness".

That is basically my dream life, since I'm a lazy bum.

According to basketballreference.com, Barkley made $43,456,000 over his career.

    Horry has made $54,162,000.

Robert Horry was asked this question a year or 2 ago, whether he rather have the rings or to be considered a superstar. He answered it by saying he rather be a superstar without hesitation. So that is coming from the man himself. Me, I prefer Barkley's career, after all Charles is the better player and Horry is a very good role player.

endorsement wise, charles made way more.
same with jordan, they both made more jack from endorsements.

Amen to that. There are other great PFs in basketball. Barkley is not the "best ever" in anything. Horry, on the other hand, has something he can brag about that nobody else can.

And Barkley's post career fame has nothing to do with his playing career and everything to do with his big mouth.
