You are kidding right? I hate the Lakers as much as anyone (well except The Cat), but if anything the refs favored the Kings tonite. Shaq was repeatedly hammered, but the refs just had no respect for him tonite. I am so freakin happy for Robert Horry! He deserves it! I hate the Lakers, but my love for Horry outweighs that hate. If the Rockets ever get Horry back I will happier then Mango in a library.
Say what? Divac must not have seen last year's NBA Finals, when a last-second Horry shot beat the Sixers. Divac must not have seen the deciding game in the first round against Portland, when Horry -- with several players on the Blazers bench yelling at him so closely that he could feel the spittle on his neck -- hit the game-winning 3. On Sunday, as Horry got the ball, Shaq knew the deal. And Kobe, raising his hands while the ball was in flight, knew the deal as well. When Horry has a chance to catch, get the ball on its seams, and shoot -- let's just say it's a surprise when the shot doesn't fall. "Lucky shot is a guy who has no form," Horry said, almost incredulously, when told of Divac's remark. "He shouldn't have tapped it out there. He should know -- he better read a paper or something." True that Rob. Lakers in 6.
R0ckets03 says: Yes, like that Samaki Walker 3 pointer that everyone could clearly tell was AFTER the half-time buzzer which the refs counted. Turns out that 3 point mistake made a big difference. Rockets R Us says: You are hysterical to the same extent to which you blindly love Robert Horry. Despite piggy-backing the officials tonight and barely winning, the Lakers will not win another game this series.
And Vlade needs to STF UP! That ****** wishes he was 1/10th as good as Horry! All that trash talking he does annoys living crap out of me. GOD OH GOD HOW I HATE THE DAMN KINGS! Anytime I see Flop master Christie, Cry Baby Webber, r****ded looking Bibby and the most overrated player in history Vlade "look he is standing five inches from me and cause me to fall and now I cant get up" Divac I feel like taking a knife and cutting open by stomach and slapping my intestines on the wall! That is how bad I wanna puke! I feel like poking a pencil in my eye and then throwing my eyeballs at the Kings and their dumb **** fans if that would prevent me from seeing them. If God gave me three wishes, one of them would be to send Vlade back to Serbia, one would be to see Webber call a timeout when he had none remaining in a crucial playoff game and the last would be to shove those damn cowbells in their fans throat! I can honestly say that I hate the Kings as much as the Jazz now! They wanna trash talk as if they are some sort of dynasty, but end up crying like little ******* after every game! My whole reason for being is bring death to the Kings! DIE KINGS DIE!
I hate both teams, but I question the taste of anyone who likes the Fakers over the Kings. Say what you will about Divac's game, but he was damned good in The Professional with Gary Oldman and Natalie Portman. Inspiring...
Good God Rockets 'R Us, get a hold of yourself: it's only basketball. By the way, for the record I would rather have Vlade over Horry any day.
The refs arent Jesus reincarnated. They do make occasional mistakes. When I saw the shot it looked good to me. It even looked good in the replay. Finally from a different angel replay it looked like a bad call. I hate both the Lakers and the Kings! I will be cheering for the Eastern Conference team like a crazy maniac in the finals! I am not biased in favor of the Lakers or anything. But the refs tried all they could to give the game to Kings if anything. Shaq nailed his free throws when it counted and Vlade and company were relegated to whinning like the little school girls they are.
No I am not. Fisher basically mugged Bibby everytime he touched the ball and then flopped when Christie posted him up.(Funny how the Lakers were crying about Divac when everyone on that team hits the floor after every play. Even the Big Aristotle has been exaggerating as of late. I thought I would never see that.) Fox pushed everyone defended. The referees kept the Lakers in the game.
I was watching the game with fans of BOTH teams and everyone said "got it off late" right after it happened. If laymen can differentiate this immediately, then a "veteran official" had better damn get the call straight. Nonetheless, bigboymumu is correct: the refs kept the Lakers in it probably due to pressure on them to make the series as stretched out as possible.
i love bibby man. and his ugly tats. he is my new favorite player. im getting a white bibby jersey. i think everyone in the nation would forget horry was on the rockets, but everytime he does something big. marv albert always refers to the back to back championships in houston that robert horry was a huge contributor too. i love you marv. dont bite me though.
Yep, like when they blew that blindingly obvious charging call on Horry(should've been a no-brainer blocking call on Divac) that essentially killed a Laker run in the 4th quarter. Damn biased refs, always trying to keep the little man down.
That is a subjective call, as most charging/blocking calls generally are. However there is nothing subjective about getting a shot off late: if the the light goes off while the ball is still in your hands it shouldn't count. We can also talk about Horry's acting when he flopped all the way into the Kings bench and drew a loose ball foul on Funderburke too if you'd like.
Bah. That was clearly a block. Its as easy to determine as a late shot. That was pretty bad, I will give you that. But its not part of a massive conspiracy to kill the Kings. I thought the refereeing was pretty good, if for no other reason than you really didn't notice it. I much prefer refs who let the players play, instead of get caught up in ticky-tack fouls.
I think if the Kings like the Spurs had any heart what so ever, then a couple of calls either way would not have made difference. Its not like the Rockets didn't have there share of horrible calls during their championship years especially in the Pheonix series where drexler was ejected. I think the Kings are good but I don't see them worthy of being a championship team. The Kings just don't seem to be able to kick it up a notch like the Lakers can. If the Lakers would have gotten their act together in the first quarter, this series would have been over by now.
Sounds like Vlade after the game. Watch the press conference with Webber again. It looked like he had a tear on his cheek! Then right before ESPN cuts off he quivers like he was crying! Sorry I just hate Webber for not coming to the Knicks.....
Webber's a puss. He can cry on Tyra's chest. Maybe that's where my growing hatred towards him comes from...
