The hype machine on Shaq goes too far. He is very, very lucky. He is big. He is at an age when his skills and game should be at their peak. He does not have to contend with any really good centers who are not already well past their prime. He did not dominate when Robinson and Olajuwon were under 35 years of age. He did not dominate when he did not have Kobe as a fully developed player. He could not dominate without the officials allowing him to use moves which have always been offensive fouls. He is as dumb as a box of rocks, something he proves almost every time he speaks. He has a penchant for insulting the skills of other quality players, such as Robinson and Mutombo. He lied about having sex with women, an outlandish and unnecessary thing to do. He speaks of himself in the third person, and has an annoying habit of giving himself nicknames. He claims he has never been in love with anyone, which is easy to believe, because he is in love with himself. He may make a ton of money and get a lot of honors, but he will be remembered by many as a big doofus who succeeded when he did not have quality centers against which to compete, a guy who didn't show up for the top 50 ceremony, a guy who disrepected many better men/players, and a guy who was allowed to foul other players every time he went to the basket for the sake of NBA/NBC market shares. ------------------
