http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/20/justice/new-mexico-shooting/index.html (CNN) -*Sheriff's investigators combed through what one called a "horrific" crime scene Sunday after the shooting deaths of five people, three of them children, at a home outside Albuquerque, New Mexico.A well-known local pastor and four of his relatives were among the victims, according to those who knew him. Each victim was shot multiple times, said Lt. Sid Covington of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department, and one of the weapons used was what he described as an assault rifle. Sheriff Dan Houston said a 15-year-old boy, who "may be a family member," was charged with two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death."Initially responding deputies entered the home and found the five deceased inside the residence, so obviously it was a very gruesome scene," Covington told reporters. There was no indication of a motive so far, he said."It's a large crime scene with a lot of physical evidence, and because there's an offender in custody, we're doing our best to be thorough and complete in gathering any potential evidence, and so we're going slowly, methodically, through the entire residence," Covington told CNN.Investigators said the dead included a man, a woman and three grade-school-age children -- two girls and a boy.
Ban all 15 year olds! Seriously though, this is beyond tragic. What the hell is going on in the world??
Did you hear the news locally? A kid had a flat tire, some guys pulled up offering help then shot him after he gave him his wallet. It's crazy all over.
You mean the kid that had a flat tire was made to give his wallet to the man who drove up? The man who drove up then shot the kid after robbing him?
These are the people our society is producing We have to really rethink our child rearing methods Rocket River
isn't Albuquerque the worst city as far as crime against females? Including rape? Just saying... that's 3 more females to add to the list.
where did he get his guns? let me guess...daddy's guns. yea...let us raise our kids in houses with guns to be responsible with and around guns...except when they decide they are tired of you and want to off you...then it becomes easy access to guns and irresponsible. i still say the best way to not get shot at home in a family setting is to have no guns in the house. i'm sure there are many who would still disagree with that...but many of them are dead.
That's ridiculous. It's being responsible. Having a safe with a combination that only you know. These kind of people outweigh the idiots who are involved in stories like the one above. It's just that is all that you hear about. You don't hear about the stories of responsible gun owners who protected an innocent or scared away a criminal because those stories are boring and involve no death. So now what? Are you gonna come up with a scenario where this kid is a cat burglar named Selina Kyle and she can easily crack the code to my safe and grab the gun and kill the family and then herself?
No the argument is that the consequences of irresponsible gun owners are likely to be very tragic. This isn't like some kid getting hold of dad's vintage guitar and trashing it. It is logical that the more guns and gun owners there are the more likely they are going to be stored and handled irresponsibly.
So then ban knives. How easily a psycho kid has access to kitchen knives. Hammers. Ban it all. Because we obviously need to think about every scenario with psycho's involved as if these are normal human beings committing these acts.
Stupid people out breed smart ones. Nothing new. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/icmRCixQrx8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
LOL. I really don't understand how so many people don't understand the killing power of a gun vs a hammer. It's an incredible stupidity in this country nowadays.
weren't the guns used in Sandy Hook locked up? i think they were. kid was still able to get access to them. but, yea, as has been pointed out...parents and such may be irresponsible with the guns and not lock them up. even if they did, then kid may know how to get to them cause parents wouldn't suspect their own kids turning on them. but, as we know, it happens. and, it's just not murder we are talking about. what about all the kids who die from accidents playing with guns owned by their parents? there is a lot more of those than murders.
