I meant sucks in big game sitations. Sorry for not clarifying. Also, manny, the way freak posted it sounded as though he were accusing me of hailing my opinions as the truth, when in reality they are opinions like everyone elses. I may have been wrong, but someone accused me of this before, and it's certainly not true.
I said at the beginning of the year that Iowa State scared me the most this season, followed by Texas A&M and Texas. After our pitiful D performance against Brad Smith, there's no reason to believe that we can't lose this weekend to a better team with a better quarterback than Mizzou......
I think they're more like Vtech '99. A good team, with an exceptional QB. Wallace isn't quite as electrifying on the run as Vick, but he's a better passer. Still, take him out and insert an average QB, and that team's 7-4. Heupel was an excellent system QB, but that team had some serious, serious talent. I agree in terms of their look. I was actually just referring to their schedule and how they might rise up through the rankings. Its rare for a team to go from unranked to National Title contender in a few weeks, but that's what OU did by teaming a top-15 Texas, top-2 KState, and top-2 Nebraska in 3 consecutive weeks. They instantly shot from about #12 to #1 in that period, if I remember right. I think ISU doing the same through their tough schedule the next couple of weeks would have the same effect, although their loss to FSU prevents them from cracking the top-3 or so. In terms of the actual team, I agree - it's too bad they only had Seneca Wallace for two years. They will regress next year unless they boost up their recruiting. They are a team that's held together by one superstar. I'm not sure they'd even go 7-4 without him - certainly not against this schedule with potentially 6 teams that crossed in to the top-10 at some point during the season. That's also why I think he's - by far - the best player in the nation. He actually carries a mediocre team into being a great team, which very few single players can do.
