True. But I think they also only interviewed the seniors (except for Colt) like Orakpo and Cosby.

But to answer the question, the punishments is harsh but justified IMO. You can't make dumb comments like that and not expect to have consequences.

Do you have proof? If not, your correction is as good as what our original post was.

the comments on his webpage are gone, but just use your noodle and think about the term "hunters" why would he ask for hunters if he was not talking about a medium-sized mammal native to North America.

All hunters are racists? That is pretty weak, also its not like only hunters have guns.

Again I am not saying it excuses the joke at all, because it still has the other meaning of killing the pres-elect, I am saying that if you think about it, there is only one word that makes it have the literal meaning.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I actually meant to contradict myself. For one, Mack Brown did the right thing for the university, that's why I voted that way. In my opinion, Mack had no choice.

I also feel that what Burnette did was not worse than driving drunk or some of the other crimes that players have been guilty of and still been allowed to stay on the team. Burnette had a severe lapse in judgment. I'm not sure what he really believes, if he's racist or not, but he really screwed up either way. I do not think that his lapse in judgment is really worthy to have him removed by the team, but in today's world, the slightest hint of racism is not tolerated and so he had to be removed from the team. It's not because of the act (which was minor compared to other crimes that player have committed) but because of the political environment.

I don't know if that really clarifies what I meant, but I tried.

I don't think it was just the fact that he was being racist, but also threatened the president at the same time. I remember in high school (2003), the OG George Bush came to our school and this kid said "I think we should throw rocks at George Bush" and he got expelled. They even had the feds come question him for making that joke.

I kind of have to assume that a century old, big-time college football program has let players stay on despite far worse behavior. Also, I kind of understood that Facebook pages were semi-private (don't you have to be accepted as a friend to see the page)? I'm just not sure how much we want to punish people, particularly college-kids, for quasi-private comments. And I figured in a team enviornment, the coach would be able to get the offending athlete and the black players to, I dunno, talk it out; or even have the offending player do sensitivity traning or something like that.

I think that makes more sense if he says we have a "liberal" in the White House.

I assume Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone did, for their hats. Although I guess nobody does now, because of the possible rabies?
