of course memphis isnt a solution...they have a team. i don't think the LA area needs another team. not sure tennessee does either. st. louis is still, in my opinion, the best option. the most viable one. though i must admit, i'm not sure how suitable their arena is. OKC, from what I hear, has the best arena not currently being used by an NBA team.
NOLA is your 2nd city Max? I found it to be one of the seediest, dirty cities I have ever been too. I go for gambling, food, and drinking but have never felt safe there. Just a poverty ridden cess pool once you left the French Quarter, Down town or the Garden district. Lots of people living on the government's nipple, or on the fringe of society. Still a fun place to visit, but NEVER to live there. DD
Las Vegas is out, as stated in this ESPN article. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2157107 Deputy commissioner Russ Granik, who was also in attendance at the Hall of Fame said the Hornets would prefer to play in Louisiana at LSU in Baton Rouge. Granik said there were three to four options available but added that Las Vegas wasn't one of them for this season
yeah....im not really seeing that happen. I saw on news 9 the other night where our mayor said something like "now the rest of the country can see that OKC can support a major market team" etc.... Im pretty sure that with the attitude of most oklahomans that i know, we wont be supporting them unless the lakers, heat, or spurs come to town.
You know I wonder if Lakewood hadnt taken over compaq center, if the Hornets wouldve ended up there. There wouldve been enough time to clean the place up and probably make it ready unlike the Saints situation which happened right before the season started.
