Depending on fit....any of those would be fantastic when they come for a bargain LMA Love Horford Anderson
just saying parsons is a pretty huge chip. I think in the end if we are going to get someone big we have to consider the reality that parsons may be part of it. Same way asik parsons lin bev might be a part of it when we all like those guys. I just think overall theres this feeling of oh 'portland is desperate at trade deadline and will take garbage' is a bit of a myth. Also I would love to trade garcia brooks camby smith and a bag of weed for aldridge too but remember you always HAVE to give up something. Can morey fleece someone? Yeah maybe but there is going to be one or two guys you might be hurt to see go. I agree with you general premise that we got to now without losing parsons or lin or beverly yet so why do we have to lose something going forward? I get that but all I am saying is in chess sometimes you do have to give up a queen or bishop or whatever to get the king. I want parsons to stay I am just saying we might have to lose parsons at some point if we really want to make a strong offer to someone. Otherwise we try and get these guys for peanuts but accept that we probably cant and we need to go to war with what we got. All that said I do think they will move asik I just hope they get something good. Asik is good. Not good enough to get this list good but good. Therefore I dont want to lose asik and I want him to stay but sadly I feel like he is a goner. I just hope they dont trade him before we get to see what he can do in game with howard. Unless of course LA is coming for asik. Just dont see how thats going to happen.
I never meant to imply that Bosh wasn't a great player. In fact, I would love to have Bosh on this team. I think he would thrive here and be closer to the player he was in Toronto, stat wise. I'm just saying that the third star is often forgothttp://www.yourhoustonnews.com/fort_bend/sports/kempner-senior-kyana-garza/image_fe075d48-fc4d-11e0-919c-001cc4c03286.htmlten or under appreciated because he would have to take the leftovers of the first the first two stars. When bosh got to Miami, most NBalA analyst were saying he wasn't a top 5 power forward anymore. They rather have LMA, Duncan, Love, Davis, even griffin.
The two teams most likely to trade their pfs are Atlanta and Portland (and maybe Minny). The only team realistically in the contest is Chicago, but this comes down to what the teams want. If Atlanta wants to win games, they trade with us, Asik and Millsap will win a lot more games than Boozer and Millsap, who are completely redundant, worse yet Millsap is the better, more valuable player at this point. If they want to lose, they trade with Chicago for much the same reason. If Portland want to win, they trade with Chicago, Lopez and Boozer will win a lot more than Asik and Lopez, who like the Atlanta situation are the redundant skillset, however in this case, Asik is the better player of the two. Of course if the stakes become much larger, like say Durant and Westbrook end up in a fist fight and Presti backs WB, all bets are off, but as it is currently, Parsons is way over paying. Parsons is really a non starter, much like Butler is for Chicago, we're basically bidding against each other and both sides are drawing the line at "young sf type guy", and because the loser of the Aldridge/Horford/Love (?) stakes is still a lot better with Butler and Parsons on their team than paying that extra, and there's really no one else even in the contest.
The answer is Anderson. Because I assume the question is which player doesn't belong with the other 3, right? Love when healthy is a superstar. Aldridge is a star. Horford is an underrated star. Anderson I'd simply pass unless the trade is for nearly nothing.
Harden and Howard as your top shelf talent is enough to win a championship if you put the right role players next to them. Instead of going for a 3rd max player, I would rather keep the current core together and go for underrated 'semistar' super role players like Millsap or Amir Johnson. Asik for Millsap + Ayon makes us favorites to win it all. I would much rather take that deal over gutting the team and giving up Lin/Parsons/Asik or whatever for a maxed out Aldridge. The only guys I would break everything up for are real superstars like Kevin Love.
Season's starting, lots going on. Right now I am much more interested in discussing the players currently on the roster, and how good they can be, and how great our team can be, and what lineups we might employ, than to discuss trade scenarios and players who aren't even on the team. Guess what? we just blew out the Pacers by 20 w/out Asik. Bad time to bring up trade talks, bro, and especially about Asik.
If Morey wanted Anderson, he'd already be here, so it's someone else, and I still think Asik & Lin are traded, simply because the Rockets can't afford to resign them. Let's hope Portland stinks it up and LMA demands a trade.
I am going to get furious. What's with all the 'can't afford to resign them' claims? Les can pay them but does he want to pay them?
If we can move Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik, we'll have max cap room next offseason. This should terrify everyone.
I don't see any realistic trade offer we can give to get Horford, Aldridge, or Love. I mean, I guess Morey could pull some crazy three way trade out of his ass, but I'm not counting on it.
I wouldn't go for Amir Johnson, but Millsap plus a healthy Ayon would be very good for us. I like Asik, but I feel he would have to be a part of a package to make this trade. It will be interesting to see what Morey might be looking at around the trading deadline.
