That was part of it, and I said that, but trust me man, the asian factor is part of it. A BIG part of it. I just don't see why anyone has a problem with it. Who cares?
It is indeed unbearable ...... but wait, but when? Can you give me a few examples where fans were saying "he's the best player on this team"? Thank you.
I meant he's average while getting too much attention. I know about the Linderalla story and all that other stuff.
I'm glad he has been out for the past couple games, I don't think they would have been won with him. Bev and Brooks are just better matchups against OKC
I really don't care how much attention or salary a player gets. I only look at his performance on the basketball court. Whatever attention or salary the player receives does not make him a better or worse player.
He's not getting too much attention. He's getting a proper amount of attention considering the number of asians in the NBA. He represents them. He's all they have right now. They're proud of that, even if he is just average. It's just something people have to understand and accept and stop being ignorant about it. You cannot fault Lin for representing such a large number of people world wide. Good for him. Gays will be pulling for Jason Collins too now. Again, when it comes to things like this, it is what it is.
the fact of the matter is, some people never believed he was starter material and was only gifted the starting position because 1) we didn't have one to start the season with, and 2) he's les ATM machine. people thought dragic EARNED his starter minutes and should've been kept on the team, even though it was never about dragic vs. lin. his first crappy month didn't do anything to alleviate that belief, even though i think his performances in dec, feb, mar, and apr have more than justified his starting position but sometime, there's nothing you can do to get past the first impression, especially if someone has already made up their minds about you even before you walked in the door.
Nothing wrong with that at all. I was just explaining the reason why Lin seems to get more "hate" with my Tebow comparison (not that he's Tebow). Instead of just seeing fans throw out racism here and racism there.
Really conflicted about Lin. I think the current starters deserve to play the rest of this series out, they've earned the right by winning 2 games in a row. If they lose when Lin comes back I feel this board will go nuts calling for Lin's head unless he puts up 30 pts or something like 20/10. Bev has been stepping up and playing outstanding. Maybe have Lin come off the bench when he's ready?
In an ideal world both Delfino and Lin would healthy for game 6. Brooks' injury would have no lasting effect at all, and Beverly would keep playing like the bad ass that he has been this series.
I've read your posts and you're not racist. But Asians are racist to their own kind too. I don't know if the proper term is racism though. There's definitely hate in it. Asians who identify with "hood" hate upscale and educated Asians. I can't remember how many times I get called, "trying to be white" by these Asians when all I do is speak in normal English and approach life with a college education.
It's interesting that 25 games is too small a sample size. But that 3 games, two of which was played injured, is enough to judge a guy by.
Haters conveniently ignoring facts. Or since they are puritanical fans they don't know what's going on outside of their team? They have no idea what happens to players before they sign with the Rockets and they don't care?
The "disrupt chemistry" argument is just BS. How can a guy who played 82 games in a season, all as a starter, suddenly disrupts team chemistry, while the other guy who has not played a lick with the team is better for the team chemistry? What kind of logic is that? And it's not like Lin has never played well against OKC. I am fine if you say that if Lin isn't fully healthy, he shouldn't play. Or if you say that they should ease him back into the rotation because he might have some rust after miss a couple of games. I am even fine if you admit outright that you think Lin is not as good a player as Beverley and Brooks. Although I totally disagree, at least you are honest with your wrong opinion. But chemistry? We talking 'bout chemistry with a 82-game starter?
Reverse racism, that's what it's called, even worse than normal racism IMO (not the extreme ones of course). Again, normal english = white; hip-hop english = black, insecure, wannabe. No Asian American culture existing, will there be one?
I'm pretty sure it's only a small amount of fans saying Lin is the best player on the team, or it's imagined out of hate? Harden sucks...I think people are more specific than that, like saying his ISOs are not good etc and McHale actually came out and said it and Harden actually has adjusted in game 4. You're still going to hate this proven correct criticism? I think people were just saying that when Lin was benched in the fourth quarter and the team lost they were upset, unjustified? Quit hating, hype, so what? You don't know whether he will be a great player or not. So you're going to let his hype turn you into a hater, blinding your reason, trolling others, creating endless bickering and ruining the vast majority of the posters on this board?
