Yes they seriously hurt. Lin will be lucky if he is even able to practice at all this summer.

Beverly has been playing great, but Brooks honestly looks lost, he's shooting 7/20 this series, 1/5 from 3...he had a couple of really bad turnovers tonight, and looks ok at best on defense.

Unfortunately u would be wrong. Big fan of Harden and what was formerly his highly efficient play. But the multiple repeated bad plays over the last couple of months which seems to have gotten WORSE in the playoffs just tilted me.

Random thoughts? Geez, wondering if your STARTING PG is gonna be ready for possibly the last playoff game is kinda important, don't u think bro?

Beverley definitely has to play but if Lin is ready he should be playing.

Look, even if everybody had a good game tonight, it doesn't hurt to add another healthy body to the rotation. OKC is going to adjust after this loss. You don't become complacent and think "we're fine". Plus we are not consistently good.

Haters be careful what you wish for.

wtf? Were you watching the same game?

Brooks ran the offense the best it ran all game, and if had actually watched the rockets in the past you would know he is probably the best shooter on the team. After being thrown out into the offense playing limited minutes in the regular season its hard to know where to get the ball and where to score. He created his own shots and gave us a huge boost. I don't know where you are pulling the other crap out of your ass from. One of the T.Os was a GREAT pass to asik who didn't have the hands from it.

Take off the Lin glasses buddy.

I think Jeremy is icing his career down the toilet. He does awful a lot of icing for his injuries and it is taking him long time to recover. It is a common knowledge in Chinese or experienced acupuncturist that it is fine to ice in the first 24 hours of sports injury, but after that, icing only impedes recovering. If Jeremy start using heat, such as TDP lamp on the injuried area instead of ice, he will do a lot better. I hope someone relay the message.

There is a scientific paper on this subject:

Topical Cooling (Icing) Delays Recovery from Eccentric Exercise-Induced Muscle Damage

    Abstract

It is generally thought that topical cooling can interfere with blood perfusion and may have positive effects on recovery from a traumatic challenge. This study examined the influence of topical cooling on muscle damage markers and hemodynamic changes during recovery from eccentric exercise. Eleven male subjects (age 20.2+/-0.3 years) performed 6 sets of elbow extension at 85% maximum voluntary load, and randomly assigned to topical cooling or sham groups during recovery in a randomized crossover fashion. Cold packs were applied to exercised muscle for 15 minutes at 0 h, 3 h, 24 h, 48 h and 72 h after exercise. The exercise significantly elevated circulating creatine kinase-MB isoform (CK-MB) and myoglobin levels. Unexpectedly, greater elevations in circulating CK-MB and myoglobin above the control level were noted in the cooling trial during 48-72 h of the post-exercise recovery period. Subjective fatigue feeling was greater at 72 h following topical cooling compared to controls. Removal of the cold pack also led to a protracted rebound in muscle hemoglobin concentration compared to controls. Measures of IL-8, IL-10, IL-1[beta], and muscle strength during recovery were not influenced by cooling. A peak shift in IL-12p70 was noted during recovery with topical cooling. These data suggest that topical cooling, a commonly used clinical intervention, appears to not improve but rather delay recovery from eccentric exercise-induced muscle damage.

This series hasn't been kind to Lin. He played horribly in all of the games, and was injured for two of those games.

If he's healthy, I want him to play. We aren't winning on the road without a good game from Lin, unless Harden or Parsons absolutely goes nuts. Considering that Harden hasn't been playing well lately, and Parsons just had the game of his life and is likely to regress to the mean in Game 5, those two options aren't likely.

    This must be pre-game.

    Yes it was.

Hopefully he recovers by then. If not, it would be best for him to rest and not risk making it worse.

Yeah it said like 8pm on Monday before the game. That's a good thing. At least he can lift his arm above his head.

Nice to know he is actually shooting. I know how much he wants this and his teammates also commenting they hope he can play next game.

Hope he comes out and puts on a show. Give Harden a breather cause he looks injured too. Hope the whole team will be fully fit and ready to go 2nd round and the rest of the playoffs.

Unless he was seriously injured in the ribs or lungs, I doubt it'd be months. Lin said he feels better, and he was even shooting today. It took me 3 weeks to recover, and I'm not a particularly fast healer.

Then again I'm not a doctor so don't take my word for it.

He should be fine for next game. Hopefully he is both injury free but really well rested which might be very important for us.
