Lin cannot replace Delfino in any way. They play totally different positions and roles. I would rather have James Anderson replace Delfino if they need another small/power forward.
No we don't. Lin can stay on the bench as our 12th man. Lin has been struggling not only for this series, but for the last couple of months too. Sorry to be harsh, but our rotation is better without Lin and our chances of winning are much better without Lin. What does Lin do that our current PG rotation of Beverley and Brooks can't do? -Lin cannot shoot. -Lin needs the ball in his hands to be effective. -Lin's defense is not necessary when it comes to defending the likes of Jackson and Fisher -Lin can barely finish in the paint. When he gets into the paint, he does that pivot-foot spin-around thing stationed in the paint with little effectiveness. Lin coming back will makes us lose. Mark my words.
Lin was fine in the regular season against OKC and in game 2, and he's controlled Westbrook on the defensive side every game they've played. Lin sucked offensively in game 1, but still played good D on Westbrook.
Ok, Lin has sucked basically the whole season with spurts of brilliance here and there. Lin can stay on the bench. He is not needed for our requirements for this sries.
Before Lin even came here analysis were talking about how used wanted him because of the high asian market in houston as seen as when Yao was here. YEs part of the reason why lin is here is for Money and because he is asian, and having an asian on our team will help bring money and our large asian market to basketball games, in which it did. It doesn't make anyone a racist because they realize that. Part of why he's here IS for marketing.
If Lin comes back into the active rotation for this series, we lose, ala Orlando Magic bringing back Jameer Nelson in the Finals in 2009 after Rafer Alston had been playing solid the whole playoffs.
If he's here for marketing, great! But not for this series!!! He can market all he wants but not in the playoffs!!! Lin cannot shoot 3's. Keep him on the bench please!
Lin should step no where near the court for game 6. We have a good thing going here. Initially i had wanted him to play but seeing how things are going changed my mind.
Do you even remember how Lin stepped up during the regular season whenever Harden or Parsons was injured? Haters only have short term memory, and selective short term memory at that.
SonofSam says that Lin played like trash in game 2 and how Brooks is playing better. I put up stats to show that's not true. I'm a LOF because I'm using facts and stats to make my point? Or more likely, anyone who thinks Brooks isn't playing great is a LOF to you. I know your a huge Brooks fans since you keep writing how great he is every chance you get. And your entitled to your opinion just as I'm entitled to mine. The guy is shooting around 36% and 13% from 3 point land during the playoffs. By any standards that's terrible shooting. I don't think he has played badly, but he isn't playing as great as some of you think he is.
great reference. Completely agree. Mchale has been known for being extremely loyal to his players (ironically compared to what LOF say) but I still doubt he plays him more minutes. If Lin does come back he will eat into Brooks's minutes which is the scariest part. Bev is great but he stagnates the offense sometimes too, brooks came in at just the right times. Great subs by the Coaching staff.
Lin is much bigger than Brooks who I don't trust at all on defense. Lin's defense is better than Brooks. I know he can't replace Delfino, but we need a bigger lineup and we need depth. We are down to 7 rotation players if Delfino is hurt. I know this is a bash Jeremy Lin party in here, but he averaged 15 & 6 while shooting 45% FG% and 37% 3p% after the All Star break. He is needed.
The reason I stated that is because the guy barely saw the light of court right before the playoffs. Its hard to adjust. I'm not that big of a Brooks fan, I'm a fan of our amazing 09' run Brooks led and tore it up in the playoffs. Everyone knows what he is capable of and you saw it tonight. The biggest point to back up my story is the fact that he is a great shooter and shot bad in these games...but still had a HUGE impact. Thats what the biggest strength is. If you watched the game closely there were times he didn't even shoot ...just zipped around in the paint and scrambled the defense. That is HUGE. I know you saw that too, because it was all the commentators and analysts kept saying over and over again. His shots also came at the best times, he 2 of his shots were end of qrtr buzzers to stop the momentum shift. That doesn't get factored in either.
He simply hasn't been struggling for the past couple of months and you know this. None of our guards are true point guards. They are guards. We need more guards and more size in our guard rotation. Beverly can get in foul trouble at times. AB is short. We need depth.
