I hear exactly what your saying and you may be right. Adelman has a certain way about him with rookies and young players VS veterans and holdovers. It doesnt matter if they arethe best player on the team if you are new? You dont get playing time unless the old guy ahead of you isnt working out.
He may be dominating every practice and it seems like he has fans both internally and among other NBA teams, but I just didn't get that impression at the times when I see him (in lsummer league/preseason/limited garbage time action). We'll see. In any case, I wish him the best of luck (and some PT, with whatever team).
yeah but is there any video of Jermaine passing? (not kidding) that's one untapped potential I don't seem him releasing anytime soon. He needs to quit thinking offense and think team. Was anything about defense in that article? It seems he has a one track mind. He's gonna be a tough nut to crack. RA's gonna need his monocles for this one. And also.. D-League stats don't mean ****.
There should be a memo that goes out during the draft saying "If the Houston Rockets draft you, you will only get a chance to play if someone is injured".j/k, but not really. JT can score and play defense, so why wouldn't you want that off the bench?
Well he's not going to get mins. as long as Rick is coach. Ask Gerald Wallace. He was actually more raw then Taylor was when he came into the league. But this quote caught my eye. "Teammates rave about Taylor's work ethic and abilities. One league source compared his practices to highlight reels."
I don't know. I seem to remember Joey Dorsey said something similar, and look how that went. It's never a good thing when a young and unproven player raves about himself and does not show any understanding on why he was not used. Adelman might be stubborn. But he's not dumb or petty. If the kid can really ball, the coach will give him a chance. Jordan Hill was in the doghouse with D'Antoni (who IS a petty prick). Now he's playing in Adelman's rotation in a position with lots of capable veterans. So I am giving Adelman the benefit of the doubt and assume Taylor is just too immature to know his shortcomings.
This. He can score over Chase or Martin in practice, but won't be defended by those guys in real games. 2 years in the league and still hasn't learned nothing about the game. It's time to learn some basketball Jermaine, and grow up.
I really like what I've seen of JT. I don't know where he gets the minutes right now but if we trade him or let him go I have a feeling it'll bite us in the ass. He's very talented as a scorer and I think his defense has potential.
If he works hard on defense,he can get minutes. His strength is offense, but I think he is behind Von Wafer at the present time.
Are you kidding? He was lauded for his defensive effort on Kobe, even though Kobe still did very well if I recall correctly. He's definitely someone that can be great on the defensive end. I wish we played Taylor more as well, but his issue has always been passing the ball. No doubt he can get the ball in the hoop.
I really hope this guy gets a chance to succeed. It looks like he has the crazy work ethic for it to happen, he just needs that opportunity and with AB and Kyle out there isn't much reason why he can't play more. The Minnesota game was over by the 3rd quarter, he could've gotten in some time in there and all of the 4th rather than just the 7 minutes.
the nba needs more coaches like hubie brown who'll play everybody on the 12th man roster, and whoever is most effective gets the most playing time for that particular game.
When JT..gave his interview about what he can do.....all he talked about was his scoring. The reporters where asking other questions and he still talked about scoring. Right there is when I know, this guy won't leave the bench.
If Taylor were really outplaying everyone else in practice, then why was Budinger the rookie who earned a spot in the rotation last year?
