but would McHale even give him playing time? I think that's even less likely than Sergio coming over

He wouldn't be eligible for the playoffs though, right, even if he signed today?

    The deadline was March 1.

Hoopshype also mentioned the rumors of Gentile coming to the Rockets are just not true at all, because his contract does not have any NBA out clause and he is signed through 2 more seasons after this.

That's for players under contract prior to March 1, he just needs to be on the roster by the last day of the regular season. I don't think we will get him over this season, but it surely would help.

Not worth the money, people on this board love the idea of prospects, but I've seen his game and I'm not impressed.

Pretty much. You have the NBA buyout (which he'd have to account for himself), and then he's gambling on still getting a new offer this Summer. The Rockets would have to cut someone like Dorsey or Johnson with guaranteed money and then sign Llull for a vet min one year deal.

Not even sure if he's eligible but even if he was you would be looking at a situation where you

    -cut guaranteed money
-assume Llull is willing to buyout himself essentially & gamble
-sign him to vet him and not get hard capped

That's alot of assumptions. However its moot. He's not coming this year with only 10 or so games left. This is all about this Summer.

Only if he agrees to play for the minimum this year and also Morey will admit his mistake and waive Dorsey to open a roster spot for him.

Llull's team is contending for a championship over there. He won't be coming over this season. This is about this summer.

Actually lots of people saw him played in the world cup with limited games in Spain, same with you, I am not impressed.

The $17-19M offer can only be for next season, not this one. It is likely referring to an MLE offer, the amount of which is roughly in that range.

Offseason more than likely. Like 95% sure it's the offseason or Morey is a God.

Lull would still have to learning the NBA speed and physicality though he's strong and tough. Morey is just wooing him for next season.

That would prevent us from offering Josh Smith anything above the minimum. Either we are letting Josh go or we have a wink/wink deal with him that we are going to take care of him next season.

Would you say he's better than Bev at least? Or would we actually be downgrading that position(hard as that is to believe)?

With that kind of money, I think we could get someone better.
