I agree with this mostly. You posture your assets high so when what you REALLY want comes along, you give the impression of conceding/negotiating when you come back to the player value you really were thinking the whole time.

This is also a good way to find out who wants your players the most. Once the word is out that some particular player is almost untouchable, it says alot when someone picks up the phone and asks about him.

It also cuts down on the ridiculous offers and teams taking up your time whose interest is only marginal and wont give fair value back in any sort of trade.

He gets a trophy for being average so far. Championship level average winners for 3 years straight. Good going average guy. Even his supposed asking for too much was probably only average in what is considered too much I bet.

 

Average after losing two superstars to injury... That shows the depth of talent that Morey has collected for beans...

There are a couple teams that would feel pretty complete with a pure scorer on the roster; for some, it could make them contenders.

Its just too bad Kevin Martin is off the market ; )
