Not surprised, Morey overvalues some of oru scrubs. No GM trades a good starter/6th man for Bud, Hill, T-Will, Lee, etc. Our guys are basically dead assets that can only be used as fillers or for late picks.

That was not forthcoming. That was backstabbing. And that was JVG's style as a coach for the Rockets. He did it to Yao when he blamed his injuries on the shoe company. He did it with CD when the fans booed the trade for Battier and CD said you have to give the coach what he wants. And he twisted Vspans words when that is not what he said at all. What he said was he had a similar role in Greece as a creator. But JVG never wanted Vspan and never inteneded to give him a chance. That is not forthcoming. Thats controlling. That was JVG's downfall.

I like it - with the way Martin has played of late he will be missed a lot. I hope this move will make C.Lee sign a new contract with us - if not we have a hole at shooting gaurd. They will need a small forward back, too, if we take two a way. This is were C.Budinger comes in. He will be missed, too; but with C.Parsons we will be fine. So all in all, add C.Budiger to even up the trade and we may be on to something.
-What are we to do with our lottery pick M.Morris? He, C.Parsons, D.Williams and Beasley are all tweeners - 3.5's if you will. Yes, Beasley is a rental but the other three?

Do you think you can find a new home for Scola?

The Martin to Minny deal makes tooooo much sense for it to be a possibility...

Other than Rubio/Love, what player would the Rockets want that would dramatically upgrades the team and does not push the TWolves into playoff contention??

I am not very enthused about trading Martin to the Wolves fyi. Im even less enthused about making them a playoff team for years.

I cannot conceive of a scenario where I would trade Martin to the Wolves which would actually happen, unless Love for whatever reason demands a trade.

but why? The only two players Minny has worth trading Martin for are Ricky Rubio (untouchable), and Kevin Love (not likely to be traded). Beasley is a douch, Wes Johnson is a legit bust, and Derrick Williams is on his way to being a bust because he has no true NBA position. The guy just doesn't look good. Neither of them are worth trading Martin for. Minny's 1st round pick is going to the Hornets so they don't even have that asset to barter with. I just don't understand why trading Martin to Minny makes so much sense other than their need for a 2guard and Adelman's Martin man-crush. They don't have what we need!

I would want Beasley. He is a true scorer, and can take his man 1on1

And he also plays the 3 and 4 spots-two positions that we're already pretty stacked at.

I think Van Gundy has a strange sense of humor that some peole don't get. Some of that was rubbing it in the players face but at the end of the day he was right in his assessment. VSpan went on to have several productive years in the league anyway. . . oh right.

It may be controlling, but it was also most certainly forthcoming.

His downfall was he failed to make it out of the first round. He failed to make it out of the first round because he had T-Mac/Yao and a forgetful cast of characters, not because he failed to give VSpan a fair shake (fair shake or not, VSpan did get some playing time, and in that playing time he completely sucked), or he wanted Battier instead of Thabo Sefolosha (the actual rumored Rockets selection if they kept the pick, or because he gave Yao too much slack and didn't stay on him for keeping his feet in better shape (if that's what the implication is...??).

Every coach is different. Everybody has their own style. It's convenient to point to a certain style and label it as a downfall when it doesn't work in one situation, while overlooking the fact that other extremely successful coaches have been controlling (Popovich, Jackson, etc) or forthcoming (Jackson) or both (Jackson).

If Morey wouldn't have traded Battier for Thabeet, we wouldn't have either player now.

I would trade Martin for Derrick Williams in a nanosecond.

Derrick Williams is a PF, but they are playing him at the SF...

Unlock the chains and let him play full time at the 4, and watch his game expand and blossom...

Some people think that just because we have a bunch of people that can play the three we are stacked at the three even if none of those players are all that good.
