RM, University of Miami has 9,418 undergrads yet they fill the stadium every week. You think they all went there? You do not have to justify it in any way. I heard some one say the same thing "you didn't go there how can you root for them...." You do not have to graduate or even go to the school to be a fan, just as you wouldn't have to be a Houstonian to root for the Rockets. Many of the folks like yourself who have had long ties to the school are as big of fans as those who went to the school. I do not think you will find many if any Horns who would say anything negative about your devotion to the teams simply b/c you did not attend.

I used to even attend Rice games, now based on the thrashing of RM I guess I was out of place. This even though many times I was the only non-family member to a player in attendance. I have been a huge baseball guy my entire life. As a matter of fact, I am 1 1/2 years older than and one year ahead of Cruz Jr and played on the same select team w/ him as well as opposing team through HS. For the longest time I told everyone that as good as Cruz Jr was that he was not the best player on his team (and I was right). Rice has 2 things going for it in baseball. 1) Baseball is a sport that is played for the most part by individuals who are good students thus the ability to go to a great school like Rice (albeit w/ smart @$$es like heypee) is a natural fit. 2) Wayne Graham has always been a spectacular coach.
