i dont think its steves fault for not averaging as many assists. I mean, cats plays are isos, yao usually gets the low post and works to get a shot. The only real spot up shooter we have is rice. Marbury on the other hand has got an allstar. Marion. Marion can do it all, but he gets alot of kicks from marbury to shoot his ugly 3 shot. and hes got a stoudemire that gets pretty much only dunks. which credits marbury with an assist each time. Its like have a faster cato who plays twice as many minutes. Steve gets 6 assists on an iso team. rebounds better. and shoots better. Steve gets my vote

Marbury is the better player, and there's no doubt about it. Who cares though. Who's better, Jason Kidd or Derek Fisher? Who won the NBA championship last season?

It's about the team, and we have the better team.

that is what i think. just compaire the teams.

Ming-Stoudemire everyone thinks there even, (i think ming is better)
Francis-marbury well everubody here thinks marbury is better so(biut lets say there even)

then who do the rockets have left. Mobley griffin posey,
and the suns have hardaway and joe johnson, and outlaw, about even, maybe slight rockets advantage. but wait oh the suns have another all star. Marion, isn't he there best player.
People lets get realistic. Marion is there best player, if
Ming francis-stoudemire marbury was an even matchup the suns would be alot hiogher and the rockets alot lower.
    so Francis is better

    Marbury is better, because

    1. He is a better scorer.
    2. He is a better passer.
    3. He is a better leader.
    4. He is a better clutch player.

despite that fact that he is a poorer rebounding than Francis. Full stop.

What is the point of this thread?
Comparing the 2 players , NOT the 2 teams.

    Winning 3-1 proves:
    1) We have the better team.
    2) For PG if he contributes to the wins, makes his teammates better than he could be considered the better player even if his stat is not as good ... but
I watched all the games and I think Marbury outplayed Francis by a mile. One on one, Steve could not drive by Marbury the way he did other people and of course he could not guard Marbury worth a click! Steve did not make his team play better either.
So my point is Marbury is the better player this year.

Marbury is a ballhog, shoots low percentage, and is no great passer or floor general.

i don't want to hear the rap on marbury anymore. have you actually watched him play this year? if you have you wouldn't be saying this. you sound like the iraqi information minister where everything out of his mouth equals the opposite.

marbury is not a ballhog, shoots a high percentage (especially in crunch time), a great passer and a superior leader.

marbury ranks 5th in the NBA at crunch time (PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK) - ((FGA - FGM) + (FTA - FTM) + TO) + 4 points if their team win)

marbury's team is the only team to have 3 players in the NBA's top ten in crunch time..a leader sets the example and makes it happen for his team.

you do know that if you play an overtime you get extra chances to get extra points, so if alot of players of your team have a high score than maybe you played alot of overtime games.

He still shoots quite a bit for his 43% career shooting (44% this year I think). Superior leader? Well maybe he's changed...but on Phoenix and NJ he wasn't much of a leader.

    He is clutch, that's true...

It's amazing how an 8th seed can change one's reputation. He deserves praise, but how long will it last?
