But the last post was 05-09-03...or was it today?

Technically, my tax resposibility came down $350, because the evaluation was already done, then I got it lowered. But hey, I'll take any victory I can when it comes to taxes.

I wish I could help you, but I know nothing about Aussie banking. Hell, I barely know American banking.

it's no real problem, just that the council will find out about the valuation and of course the rates will go up.

    10% decrease is good.

Behad must have sat on his front porch without his shirt own when the appraiser came by. ;)

Maybe the appraiser saw Anti Sonic in his backyard eating BBQ.

Maybe I brought BBQ to the appraiser....naah, that would have been more than 10%. Hell, they'd have paid me money!

My protest went fine - they knocked it down to the $173K purchase price.

I asked her about the homestead and the 10% rule. She said that I'm not eligible to file homestead until Jan 1, 2005 and that the 10% rule only applies when you have a homestead exemption.

So basically they get a free shot at me next year.:(

How did your protest go, Mrs. JB?

The perils of inner loop/montrose/heights life.

The house I live in has gone from 170k to 270k - in 3 years.

    WTF?!

In that time, crime & traffic have drastically increased here - what the hell are these people looking at?
