Do not read below if you haven't seen latest episode. It felt like they tried to jam too much into one episode. She was brought back to the CIA, they introduced a new character, Brody and Carrie become friends again, Brody get busted. It all felt a little rushed to me. When they found the video of Brody, I wondered what it really revealed. They haven't showed us but a few seconds of the tape. I thought the video might not prove anything. Brody could just say that he was forced to make many video's for possible future use, and that they tried to turn him, but they couldn't. Prisoners have been forced to make untrue statements on video many times. As far as I know, the CIA doesn't know for sure that he was even wearing the vest during the assassination attempt. The CIA knows that there wasn't an explosion, and they're not sure why. I'm not sure the CIA can prove that Walker and Brody were working together on the assassination attempt.
Carrie getting all emotional and blowing their operation. Now they gotta rely on interrogation with a guy that got tortured for 8 years in a hole in the desert. Great move Carrie. Dana bout to slut her way to the top, they could get a lot more deeper with abu nazir and other new characters in the show.
I liked the fact that they jumped on Brody so early. Now I have no idea what will happen over the last 75% of the season. At least it wasn't cat and mouse for 5 episodes.
That was a good episode. I was kind of worried after the previous one. Having Brody personally go pick up the bomb making tailor really asked alot as far as suspending disbelief that Nazir would ask a potential future vice president agent to do such a risky operation. The idea that Brody was the only one the tailor would trust was also questionable at best. He only met Brody once, and Brody obviously didn't follow thru with the bombing or he wouldn't be back. It seems Nazir could have much more easily contacted the tailor the same way they did to tell him to make the bomb in the first place. Anyway this episode was much more believeable and moved the story line along at a much faster pace than I was expecting.
Great episode. I'm so happy that they didn't drag out an unrealistic story line of Brodie as a VP candidate/terrorist mole. I think the story will turn to finding the mole in the CIA. I mean where else can it go?
Was it ever confirmed if Brody was the guy who slipped the captured terrorist the razor blade in season 1? Spoiler Saul was the only other one who had contact with him, IIRC. I hope Saul isn't a terrorist.
I don't think it was confirmed but I think it is obvious. I'm not sure the show will ever go back and explicitly tell you that he did it. I think the viewer is supposed to understand that that he did it because we know he is a terrorist. The agency not being able to confirm it was just part of helping portray Carrie as spiraling out of control.
I agree with the poster above about the episode feeling rushed and the final dialogue was weak as well. As far as my predictions..i've been feeling like he ends up being a double agent but i'm not so sure anymore
interesting how fast they are moving things along, these cliffhangers would be season finales of most shows
not looking forward to the next episode where the writers will have Brody tortured to draw moral equivalence between the US and Islamic terrorists
Best fall show on TV right now. Every week, I look forward to each episode. It's getting better and better as the season goes on.
We can even go so far to say that in real life, they would have secretly arrested Brody rather than tailed him like they did...to make him work for them. Sorry, when you're that close to the VP, I don't see how they can leave him on the streets. She made the call, because Plan B was to arrest him, anyhow.
Yeah, but as a US Marine, they still successfully turned him into a terrorist, an almost impossible task -- took 8 years. Turning him back into a Marine might not be as hard. Arresting Brodie was always plan B. And, as I said to durvasa, in real life it would have probably been Plan A -- so, the "operation" in the show was unlikely to happen. Brodie has direct access to the VP in multiple situations; I don't see how they don't arrest. So, Carrie had a quick trigger finger on switching to Plan B, so that Brodie doesn't call off everything, then they have to arrest him anyhow. Now we switch to a realistic plan which is to threaten Brody with the Death Penalty to try to get him to turn back to serving his country.
If Saul was a terrorist why would he have turned in the flash drive with Broddie's video on it? Why not just destroy it? No one else saw the video but Saul so he could have just destroyed it but instead he showed it to Carrie and David.
