From season one. There was intel that there was a mile in the CIA that was leaking information to Nazir.
No I don't think it was him. Think back to when they were doing the lie detector test. I was almost certain they alluded that there was someone specifically in the CIA leaking information.
It's Saul?! This lines up, but it can't be because that's the cover for them to kill off Brody? Eh? -- I don't know, but I thought that the CIA leader, and that new guy on the show that survived "Gettysburg Address." No way it's Saul. That would just be to me like what outta nowhere!?
I've had my suspicions of Saul but I don't want to believe it. The writers want you to think its probably Estes and the other guy so it may just be Saul.
I'm worried about it being Saul...I hope not, but wasn't he one of the only people with access to the prisoner who killed themselves with the razor in season 1? and he left the girl who killed herself this season with the means to kill herself as well. Also, I don't know what to make of this whole dar adel thing(or whatever the old spook's name is.) Is it just as simple as running the Brody op and taking him out when all is over or is it something more?
But what if he was trying to shift blame onto Brody and get focus away from himself? I'm not saying it's Saul, but the fact that he showed the video of Brody's confession certainly does not remove the possibility of him being a mole.
Have the writers or director said there is a mole? Otherwise, I don't see why we are so convinced there is one. If there was a mole, why didn't they tip off the teacher and his girlfriend that the CIA was onto them? Why didn't they tip off the group in Lebanon that Carrie was over there with intelligence? Why didn't they tip off the Saudi prince that his girlfriend was a double agent? Why didn't they tip off Nazir that Brody had been turned? I think the "mole" concept comes from season 1 right? The only thing that really needs a mole to explain it as far as I can tell was Nazir knowing about the list in Estes office of targets that Brody retrieved. Other than that, Brody has been the mole. He's who slipped the blade to the terrorist in season 1. We know that because of the lie detector test being made so important. He passed, but we know he was lying because he lied about cheating on his wife and passed anyway. If there is still a mole it's a crappy one because the CIA has done a good job taking out members of Nazir's group.
It's not likely to be Estes. Estes is front and center in the cover up of the drone bombings that the VP was responsible for, which is a primary motivation in Nazir's revenge. Besides they have Brody break into Estes safe, which wouldn't make much sense if Estes was already on their side (though it would explain how they got the combination, but what would the point be?). Estes is trying to cover up for the VP, while Nazir is trying to kill him. It seems that Estes leaking what the VP did rather than cover it up would make more sense if he was on Nazir's side so the world could know what he did. Besides they took Saul into custody because he was on to Estes plan to kill off Brody who also had knowledge of the VP's involvement in the drone strikes.
What about the knowing exactly where in the VP's office the box with the serial number to his pacemaker was? How did he find out about that?
