A BJ for burns. Even if it doesn't work you don't mind too much. Unless your finalsbound :)
For real though, toothpaste does work well for burns. At least it works for a finger after you didn't throw the firecracker fast enough. That's me at 8 years of age.
Rubbing sand on a jellyfish sting works too. That's me around the same age.
And some tobacco sure helps to stop bloodflow. That's me at age 5. Huge gash in the head. And that's what my brother-in-law used to stop it. Not sure why. Didn't do much for making the scar small. Still have it 28 years later.

Hydrogen peroxide gets out blood stains. Well, it got the blood on my collar from a shaving cut. You'd probably need a whole lot if you cut up you put your neighbor through a woodchipper or something. :D

Breathe into a paper bag for 1 minute to stop hiccups. Works for hyperventilation also.

A Bloody Mary (or two) for breakfast will cure a hangover...

yeah the site I read for that said sugar works on most people instantly, but it didn't work for me so I tried the salt after and it worked. you only put it under your tongue because of the blood vessels there that are so close to the surface. you can swallow it too and I would imagine it would have the same effect. I need to find that link because it explained why this works.

I used to gargle with heavily salted water all the time for sore throats, and it always worked (however temporarily) until a few years back. Now it rarely seems to work. Never heard of the peroxide bit, though, may have to give that a shot this winter.

It isn't a traditional home remedy, but the Ocean will cure just about anything. It always makes any cuts I have heal faster, including those already scabbed over. It seems to help with ankle sprains, and upset stomach as well.

That's how it seems to me, anyway.
