Now you have removed all doubt of your ignorance. Anyone who is ashamed to be a Rockets Fan the Rockets don't need. SO get lost!

Do you know how long it takes to get out of that parking garage from the upper floors if you wait till the end of the game?

    :)

Fact is is can be an hour. If you don't get there way early to park low you have to leave early or you feel like you're stuck like Hurricane Rita traffic.

    Just saying.

I'm a diehard fan and would stay till the very end.... Why leave the TC just to beat the traffic??? We should embrace this moment and share our love of the game together....

I was at the game. People started chanting We Want Steve when we were up by 15. I didn't participate

Also, people left (myself included) because we were absolutely dominating Portland the entire game even though they were slowly coming back. We were playing in cruise control in the fourth and it was obvious they didn't have the talent to win.

If that makes me a bad fan, then I guess you and I differ on what a fan really is

Ya the fans did leave pretty early this game, I was there and stayed for the whole game. However during the game the energy level, expecially in the first quarter, was pretty high and better then almost all of the regular season games last year, hopefully we can keep the energy up at TC.

I guess that's the reason why some teams don't fear playing in the TC :(

    Well said.

The chanting and leaving early are not really a big issue. it was WHEN they happened that really sucked.

If we were looking at a bunch of garbage time in the 4th quarter and you didn't feel like watching it anymore, then you have every right to go home. Same for the chanting for Francis. That would have been a MUCH more appropriate time to do it.

But, when the Rockets are trying to maintain a 8-12 pt lead with more than 4 minutes left, both become really absurd.

On a side note, either I just completely missed the other thread about the chanting, or it was started while I was creating this thread ( I started typing it, left for a little while and came back). Either way, i hate duplicate threads so that is the last thing I wanted to do.

That's bad. Is TC too big for Houston?

I am wondering whether now rockets players prefer to play on the road than at the home. Too much distraction!

I'm curious, and maybe I just don't understand. What's the fascination with Steve Francis? Please someone explain to me. I know; we all have our favorite players, but the main focus should be to support the rockets and if your favorite player is not part of the rotatoin...tough cookie!

    Go Rockets!

Agree on both counts. Looked like more than half the Rowdies are new (could be wrong, just eyeballing who I knew), and looked like they need to get louder and sharper with the chants. When the arena is playing a standard defense chant and they're trying to sing some random chant - it's just a trainwreck.

First game, they'll adjust as they go along.

As for the crowd as a whole - there's no reason at all to hate. Everyone's getting great at wearing reed and being loud through the game. This is a major step up from when TC was a tomb. If you don't like the chants they choose...oh f***ing well. It wasn't vulgar, it wasn't heckling a hurt player, they were calling for a guy they want to see. As far as leaving early...well...it happens. To be fair, the Blazers aren't a team most care about, we didn't tear them up, the game was decided...human nature. Had it been Dallas or the Sprus, more would have stayed.

i was thinking the same thing as the original post. i dont know how many times i was shaking my head last night... at the fact of the chants for steve, which seemed like it started in my section (1 guy wouldnt stop the whole second half, even if he was by himself). THE ROWDIES WERE VERY DISAPOINTING! its almost like they were told to not be so "rowdy" this year for whatever reason... sad.

isn't this thread the exact same thing as the "we want steve" thread, except this one is anti stevie, whereas the former was a pro-stevie thread?

no, it's not the same exact thing. our home court is a joke compared to the jazz, mavericks, and even the spurs (fans who dont know jack about basketball)

I realize it's hard to get loud when you're playing portland and leading for all 48 mins, but it's gotta be louder than it was...iit seems like people only show up when we play the mavericks.

    The truth.

And that's because most of them are Mavericks fans.

i thought the "we want steve" chanting was flat out stupid and inappropriate, to be blunt. If the rockets were up by 20, then ok. But Portland was still in striking distance and the rockets were just getting by.

I thought the crowd was good the first half but the second half it was lethargic...then again so was the rockets play. I think they go hand in hand.

I dont like people leaving early either, but the rockets seemed in control so i can understand it a little. Dont agree, but understand.

The Rockets have not made it out of the first round in 10 years. Its getting harder and harder for fans to get excited.
