Good point. What I meant was that the "fans" who are complaining that they paid money to come watch Stevie can go to screw themselves -- there'll be real Rockets fans waiting to replace them anyway.

I thought i heard the chant when the Rockets were up by 8 only. That was inappropriate chant and just dumb!! You don't put Steve in when you're up by 8pts...you want to do that kind of chant only when it's a blow out or something.

    man

you guys are so lucky, I live in Australia, been here all my life. I live and breathe the Rockets. I watch them at lunch when im at work. I schedule my lunch breaks around them. My dream is like to follow the Rox around for an entire season. And people leave during the game. I wouldn't miss a second of it. Im so jealous that you can even attend. I just don't it honestly/.

Well, the guys leaving in the middle of the game are mostly from the over-pampered corporate crowd sitting in the club seats (which are the ones you get to see on TV). I happened to be in section C108 tonight, and I was telling my friend who hadn't been to a Rockets game in a long time -- dude, the real fans aren't here. The real fans are up there in section 403 screaming their voices off and still cheering till the game is over.

    I feel for you mate.
I live in New Zealand --- I skipped 2 days of work just to watch Houston Bball on Sopcast --- and Im planning to do the same in the following week.

Im not criticizing the fans at TC, but if I was there, I wouldnt miss a nano-second of Rockets game.

that reminds me about my first trip to the States back in November 2005. I was at the United Center for the Bulls game vs the Spurs. the whole stadium was Packed and i could only hear people yelling "defense" all night long. the game was played into OT and it was real late, but i did not see many people leave till the end.

we had a huge trouble getting out of the UC and it was like 11pm when my boss sent me back to Arlington Heights, where my hotel was.

i guess i had read this kind of reports in China for several times about Rox fans being so "cold", but it's really beyond me why they dont wanna go to the TC to cheer for their team. last time i checked, this is a team who had won 2 NBA champions in a roll, and this is a team who had the greatest center in the history NBA and who has the No.1 real center and the most talented player in the league right now.

i just wish our headquarter could be moved from Chicago to Houston.

Because this is the GARM where repetition is the key.

I for one don't mind so much about the chant. I mean, don't we always complain about how the Toybox is always quite and nobody, but the rowdies, even cheer? I understand how some of you feel that this could be detrimental towards our team, but at least for once, the TC was cheering.

This could be the beginning of a whole new atmosphere at the TC. For those of you who were there, did the Rowdies chant for Steve too? Maybe the Rowdies can lead new chants from now on and the TC will be alive for once.

Not every fan follows every single minute of preseason and gets all the Steve updates on clutchfans. Should they have done their homework first to see Steve's "true" standing with the team, or be considered less of fans if they dont?

Hearing it from the TV, thought it was just a fun type chant from the fans showing they're thinking about him and glad he's back. But maybe I'm just being too nice to them about it...I think I'd be more pissed if they chanted "We want Novak"

If people did leave with the game still close, that's not something to justify....But I can say that I was at the Rox-Lakers game at Staples Center opening night, hearing boos at introduction directed at possibly the best player in the league that's on THEIR team. Soon as the Rockets went up by 12 with 3 minutes to go, the crowd swarmed on out of the arena in droves, including ol' Jack Nicholson himself. Will admit there's more buzz there than a typical Rockets crowd even if they're notorious late arrivers and early leavers, but hey, traffic sucks

Heheh this is so funny. There are two SF3 chant threads. This one is the positive one and the other is the negative one.

By the way the fans acted it's now a must that we trade Steve Francis. It's too much of a distraction, and I'll be the first to lead the chant "We want Mike James."

This happens at arenas all over the country. Especially during the regular season.
