If the Rockets would have found a way to pull off a win in game 2 Id say yes, but even if you win the next 2 games at home, its going to be extremely difficult to win 2 out of 3 with two of the games in OKC. Plus, I am very interested to see how Durant reacts to the added pressure. I think he might be the most gifted scorer the game maybe has ever seen, but doesn't play selfishly. Now its all on him to be the man almost every play, and he's going to be forced to play to score almost every time down the floor. Going to be a very interesting series now to say the least either for better or worse for the Rockets.
don't put the gun in front of the horse just yet or is it don't jump the horse...however that american saying goes.
I don't think we will win the series falling behind 0-2. Without Russ, they are still a great team. Now if it happened before the series started, we might have a chance.
You don't wish any injury from the other team. I truly feel for them, just as when we lost Yao during the Lakers series. Regardless whether Westbrook is playing or not, it showed last game that we could play with these guys, I just wished the Rockets play the Thunder with no. 0 playing.
Dude we couldn't beat a pitiful Suns team and a Lakers team which was like a game 7 to us. And you think we can hang with the thunder? Child please.
They have no penetration now. Lin and Beverley are much better than Jackson and Fisher. We can do this.
i actually hope we don't win, yeah I said it. Barring more injuries, we sure as hell don't have a chance of getting to the NBA finals. I'd rather see a more competitive OKC vs Miami series versus a still injured Spurs vs Miami series.
That Laker game was not played like a game 7 for us. The playoff energy was not in that game. And had Lin not gotten injured, we might have been able to pull off game 2. Believe.
I hate to get back into the series this way. But we have to do whats best and go balls out and win. If I were coaching I WOULD SEND DOUBLE TEAMS AT KD ALL DAY UNTIL THE WHEELS FALL OFF. With WB out and no true #2 threat we better get back in the series at home this weekend.
I still think the Thunder have much more talent and experience on their side. Not to mention, the Rockets would have to win 4 games in the next 5 games. If we won game 2, it would be a different story.
The Thunder never were or have been the clear favorite to win the title. That is the Heat and this pretty much makes it a lock they win it all, book it, put your house on it, or your first born.
Nah. OKC is still deeper and more talented, especially if Lin is still hurt. They will rally hard in Westbrook's absence and likely play out of their minds for at least another game or two, which is all they need to win. I just don't see the Rockets winning a game in Oklahoma. Still looking forward to screaming my guts out in Toyota Center on Saturday, natch.
This will tell how good and tough our coaching staff and players are. OKC losing westbrook is big, but they still got KD. This is a better news for the second round team, because they are either facing a 8th seed ROX or a short handed OFC. This series is going to be longer maybe a game 5 ot 6th. Now we may have a better chance at winning, however that would be like from 20% chance to now 30% chance. Not much by any stretch of imagainations. Now mature of our players be able to exploit now their hole? How will our rotation be in order to take that advantage? This will tell the future of our head coach and some of our players...
That's a good thing for the Rockets. He's looked pretty bad the first 2 games. I don't agree that Lin and Beverley will be able to have their with Reggie. He's a good PG that isn't well known because he's backing up a star. He's their version of Beverley.
This is bigger than most realize. They have no penetration now. Lin and Beverly will sleepwalk past Fisher. I think we can win this thing.
Durant will replace all of Westbrook's production and maybe with better efficiency. We will still have to shut down Durant to have a chance and that seems unlikely for 4 games with such a young team that still makes many mistakes. We will still have to play a near perfect game.
Reggie Jackson is a gifted athlete but wildly erratic and only a 23% 3-pt shooter. Fisher's the opposite -- slow, but steady-handed and deadly from deep. This will free up more looks for Ibaka. As dominant as he has looked through the first 2 games, he has only attempted 17 shots in 61 minutes of play (6 in 34 minutes in GM2). The keys to this game are getting OKC's bigs in foul trouble and forcing Thabo to beat us from the outside.
