Guys, we need to help our GM by saying how great our franchise player wall is and his contract is a bargain! We need to get Heat interested without us throwing a pick!

I mean, I’d take the cap relief straight up. Imagine having $60-$70 million to spend this summer

We would need a bunch of vet contracts to match salaries
Thank God you’re not our GM :D

We'll take a crate of D-wade jerseys and call it a fair deal.

I don’t think we’d use it all on free agents. We could go after John Collins or Duncan Robinson and then take a salary dump or 2 from other teams while taking back more picks.

So we are just gonna spend it because we have it?

lets see the direction of the team before we just start spending.

I am all for clearing cap but I am not eating it back up for those guys.

As long as the bad contract fits within the scheme and culture.

we took back a bad contract before in juwan Howard but he actually was a good fit and complimentary player. As long as the bad contract doesn’t outlast the length of Walls contract and doesn’t have to attract a draft pick to it, I would do it.

    Miami has 0 bad contracts.

    Every overpay is a 1+1

    This is a dream scenario

I'm tempted to keep Victor for now. Even at whatever they decide to offer him this summer (if they intend to keep him), he may not be such a bad asset to have around.

Ineffecient scorers who are injury prone with huge contracts do not help any contenders.

If wall was bought out and signed with the nets for the minimum, he would get 14 minutes a game at most and I doubt he would get that. Every shot he would take would be a bad shot shot because he would be taking shots from more efficient guys.

well we have to spend to the floor anyway, which is 90% of the cap.

I think there’s a nice in-between we can play. Get a good young player or 2, then use the rest to gather assets.

Confused as to why the Heat would want Wall.

You're most likely not going to make it back to the Finals with or without him, and all you're doing is crippling your ability to sign an actual helpful FA, especially if you trade Olynyk and his expiring $13M contract.

PLUS you have an actual player on your team that you need to re-sign (Duncan Robinson) PLUS your backcourt is already solid with Butler / Herro / Dragic / Nunn.

I just don't get why the Heat would want a non-expiring aging backcourt player who won't move the needle one bit.
