Yahoo! headlines are saying that the police have a van surrounded, but there are no details.

 

The Scary thing also is that from the distance they found the bullet casing to where the targets were hit, mean that this guy is a damn good shot and probably has significant training.

To hit a moving target at that distance is very difficult.

I was fired up too until I realized that they were pulling over and surrounding EVERY white van, I hope the tactic works.

BTW did anyone notice a few parallels that this killer has with the killer on 'Red Dragon'?

Sorry I wasn't clear early on.

As I mentioned before, its hard for me to do nothing. I am disgusted by the loss of life and what those families will go through, but I also don't like the thought of everyone else living in fear.

According to ABCnews though, one van was seen bumping other cars, desperately trying to get out of traffice. They've surrounded one white van in particular, but I don't know if its the bumping van or what's happening with this.

AB, did the shootings start when that movie opened? Didn't it open last Friday? Blech. This is the only time I'm glad we have a death penalty, for sick pukes like this sniper.

 

wow, i just got back from running and heard the news of a new shooting! this is crazy. you'd think that radio stations would break in with news like this, especially AM stations!

ESPN was reporting that extra precaution and much more safety measures will be taken at the Redskins game this weekend. I wonder if they have reason to believe something could happen there?

 

Yeah, I didn't understand that either drapg, unless it's easy to get a high powered rifle into a sporting event.

 

There is a serial sniper in the area and a football game is where thousands concregate. Those people are relatively stationary in the stands. So naturally there is something to worry about. Any precautions they take are necessary.

 

They want to add extra precautions just to be sure. I think that is wise.

I doubt it. They are fearful of something happening at the game. They have no idea what he's going to do next. That is part of the problem.

 

I know this sounds silly but, the killings started on October 2 two days before the movie opened nationwide...would it be worth it to find out if there were 'sneak peeks' of the movie in the MD area?
