Did you see KT's line in the Orlando game K. Thomas 10-16 from the field, 4-5 from the charity stripe, 12 offensive boards, 20 total rebounds, and 24 pts I sure miss Kenny Thomas. He was the toughest dude on the team.
Mow I see how. It was an OT game and KT played 44 minutes. Iverson still got hos 31 shots. http://www.nba.com/games/20030331/PHIORL/boxscore.html
I imagine most of those shots were putbacks from the 12 offenensive boards. I wish we had someone to clean up after SF, Cat's. and Yao's misses.
Dude, if that's a reference to the thread where Kenny told that guy "F--- the Rockets", then that's hilarious. Nicely done. If not... Nevermind.
Pretty soon, we'll be seeing "Langhi goes 11-12 from the 3 pt line, but Najera's 25 rebounds keeps Mavs on top".
KT has 4 straight double doubles and 5 out of 6. He shot 59% in February, and is still rolling. He's 50% for Philly since the trade. Hiss Rebounds per 48minutes equal Kurt Thomas,,,and this is not a stat skew; they are only 3 minutes apart overall. Dude is one of the most underrated players in the NBA.
What kind of way does Kenny score in on the Sixers? Isos or within the flow of the game? One of the reasons for fans who wanted to trade him was the way he scored on the Rockets.
we knew KT was a good player before we let him go. I just wish we would've gotten Hedo Torgolu instead of Posey. Oh well
Kenny would not have blossomed in our Game plan, at least doing what our coaches required of him to do. After we reinvent ourselves with a new game plan (Team Basketball) you will see many players develop beyond our expectations. (Griffin for example)
hp - Let's put a little additional perspective on it. Four straight games of 44, 38, 32, & 38 minutes. Total assists for those 4 games? 4. I only mention it because the word team seems to be running rampant here lately. KT going to the EC was a win-win situation for all concerned. The Rox wouldn't/couldn't afford to keep him and have a PF glut plus some team in the EC will pay him what he wants.
Better check your arithmetic - it's 49. Think the Sixers will give him a Max contract based upon these 3 games or will they also factor in the stretch from Mar. 16-20 where he got 5 against the Nets, 4 against the Heat, and 5 against the Pistons?
Gater: when you are a bruising rebounding, frontline defender shooting 54.7% over two months, no one cares what your assists are. You are paid to box out, crash the boards and finish, not get Allen Iverson into the flow of the game.. And Kenny even helped harass McGrady into a 13-33 night. What are Najera's assists--4 for the entire month of February, Keon Clark has 7 assist for the entire month of March...and those are two easy teams to get assists on. Drew Gooden has 5 assists for the month of February. Eddie Griffin has 7 in the last 8 games. Another opportunistic rebounder, Kurt Thomas, has gone 4 games with 4 assists this season. Many role-playing power forwards go 4 games with 4 assists. Many average that. (Malik Rose averages 0.8 for his career.) That has nothing to do with "team." 5 of 6 double doubles is what most people look at. Also, they look at the fact that the 76ers have won 11 games in a row with Kenny Thomas starting...since he came back from his deep thigh bruise injury in Feb. Kenny's is a 10-8 player for the 76ers right now, and shooting a blistering 54.7% over the last two months. He's doing fine, Larry Brown is giving him praise and starts (if not starter minutes), and I'm happy to see it, because I love basketball and enjoy following other players like Kenny. He works his ass off and deserves what he gets. Rudy couldn't keep him with Eddie and Mo, but I'm glad to see Rudy traded him to Philly with a coach who needs to surround Iverson with hustle guys. Rudy could have just traded him straight up for Posey, and he'd be left dying in Denver...not like they just had to have Mark Bryant or anything.
