I watched Hollis Price play big against TJ Ford,

He is better than Tito Maddox hands down

Darren Kelly played for UT a few years back. He was pretty good in college. Can kinda shoot and he can throw down pretty hard for a guard. He loves to shoot the running floater. We had him on our summer team a couple of seasons ago. I dont think he did that well but I also dont think he got a lot of minutes. He has backup potential. DK can't be any worse than mooch and could be a nice change.

Good assessment. I don't know DK personally, but I see him around the gym sometimes playing pickup ball. Hopefully he's been working hard on improving his ballhandling and passing skills, and might be able to make the team as a combo guard. Again, he could probably school Moochie Norris.

Also, anyone know if Tierre Brown is in the hunt for the 12th man spot?

    Seconded.

Joe Shipp is one of those players who got better every year in college (was originally a spot up shooter but worked real hard on adding the drive to his game). He is extremely coachable and would probably do really well under JVG.

Example: First round, NCAA tourney. NC State hits a go-ahead three with under 10 seconds left. Shipp, a senior go-to guy and the Pac 10's leading scorer, dribbles the length of the floor, sees he's covered, and passes to a freshman who hits the game-winning three. Gotta love that unselfishness.

Shipp will be on an NBA roster somewhere next year, no question. He's no NBA starter, but he can give some team a few quality minutes, and he's already got an "NBA body" (kind of a Mario Elie-build).

It's strange that he didn't get drafted. But I wouldn't mind having Price on the team, can't be any worse than Mooch. I'd go for it, if we can't get rid of Mooch just bench him.. expensive cheerleader, but oh well.

Hollis Price would kill Darren Kelly.

Darren Kelly is a streak shooter. And that's his best attribute.

Imagine a poor poor poor man's Mike Woodson.

I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him, although it sounds like he doesn't have great point guard skills. Still, if he can shoot, it's worth a shot. Our backup PG options right now are Moochie and Tito. We need to upgrade this position.

If the Rockets sign him, Hollis Price will be the next Sooner to come to Texas and kick some butt (not Longhorn butt - NBA butt). Just like Najera has done with the Mavs when everyone said that he was undersized to play in the NBA. Najera and Price have a lot of the same intangible qualities. Does anyone remember that the Rockets drafted Najera and promptly traded him to Dallas? Another excellent move by the Rockets' front office.

Kelivn Sampson is an excellent teacher and coach and his players have a shorter learning curve once they get to the NBA.

Even though i am from UT, and I like DK, it's true. I'd take Price over DK anyday. That kid shoots lights out. He seriously never misses. He's also an incredible ft shooter, something over 90%. I thought we should have drafted him in the 2nd, so I really think we should pick him up now. And by the way, I still hate Najera. I hated him at OU and i hate him on the Mavs. He is one of the biggest floppers in the league. Anyone besides me notice how the Mavs have turned into a flopping team? They kinda resemble the Jazz. I guess thats what happens when you have no D.

Not only is Najera a flopper, but he has always been a dirty player. He threw elbows at Malik Rose in the playoffs last year, much like he did at Gabe Muoneke at OU. Only difference is that Gabe didn't tolerate that crap. Basketball is a finesse game, and Najera is more interested in taking people out than playing honest defense.

Anyways, yes Hollis is a better shooter than DK. But it will be interesting to see how his inability to create his own shot will hurt him in the NBA. Hopefully he can be able to sit behind EG's weak ass picks and hit some open jumpers off the bench. And maybe this will spell the end of Moochie Norris' reign of terror.

Hollis Price is a smaller, quicker version of Juan Dixon - fearlessness and all.

Give him an invite and let him compete for 3rd string PG.

There are a lot of college players with some talent who didn't get drafted.

I'd sure like to give Price a look as current 3rd string and groom as future 2nd string PG--no reason he couldn't be a Speedy Claxton with a much better J.

I'd also like to take a look at Shipp or Daniels or Carroll as a back-up swingman and even Chris Marcus or Estill as a back-up C.

Certainly all these guys are more interesting to me than bringing Collier, Hawkins, or Maddox back. I think Hawkins really is just insurance for now until Posey resigns, but I wouldn't mind if Hawkins, Carrol, Daniels and Shipp had to compete for a roster spot along and if Hawkins beat them than great.

Of all these I have to say I have most interest in the following order--Price, Carrol, Marcus, Shipp, Daniels & Estill. Why not give these guys a chance--they have just as much NBA potential as any other mid-late 2nd round pick.

I would like the Rockets take a look at Levell Blanchard from Michigan.

If the Rockets cut MN and no other team picks him up, then the Rockets still have to pay him.

I personally, was happy with Tierre Brown. He was a hard worker and had a great pre season. I bet the decision to waive him wasnt entirely CD and Rudy. Franchise and Cat didnt want to see their boy moochie get the shaft. I guess all things happen for a reason. I'd be happy with a Hollis Price to come off the bench. I saw FSSW talking about how the rockets might draft him. I'd go for it.

I despise OU, and I still love this kid(Didn't before, but watching him has really impressed me). As mentioned earlier, he has what many do not...heart. He seems to have the kind of heart that will allow him to succeed at any level.I see the same heart in him that I see in TJ Ford. He will will himself to success, despite his size. Hollis is a shooting guard, but so was Gilbert Arenas, and, as college players, Arenas did not even compare to Hollis.

Give him a shot! Can't possibly be worse than Tito/Mooch.

But he did miss 14 out of 17 shots in his last collegiate game against Syracuse in the Elite Eight round. 'Cuse used their height advantage and zones to neutralize him and it worked. He was flummoxed.
