At the time, I wasn't so mad about the non-call on the continuation, because I thought Brooks went to early. But considering how we never even got a shot off, yeah that sucked.
Towards the end of the game I saw kobe look at one of the refs and wink at him, what the hell was that about.
I nearly lost it after that Brooks "on the floor" foul. It completely cost us the game. It didn't guarantee a win, but it guaranteed something better than that. Given how the refs treated Kobe in the 4th quarter and OT, Brooks deserved better than that... much better.
Yes, you are absolutely right. The best three team in last year were celtics, rockets, and spurs. All them were with major injuries. 06 Heat is a great one because Wade showed a true MJ kind of games. The lakers is the luckest faker in the world.
This is simply. If the move was made by Kobe, Lebron, Wade or certain other players, the matter of continuation wouldn't even be addressed, as they would certainly get the FTs. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it. Even when called equally, NBA referee'ing is bad. But since we can't even get that, it is what makes the game difficult to watch at times. Please explain to me how Luis Scola's 6th foul was a foul, yet Fisher's defense on Brooks, after the completely botched non-continuation call, wasn't a foul. Superstar treatment has been around in the NBA for decades now. It, as much as anything, devalues the game. But it won't change.
Is it me or is anyone else beginning to miss the replacement refs? This the EXACT thing i was yellin at my TV when they called a foul on for floor for AB. At times like this, i cant believe how much restraint these players have against the Refs cuz i would be REALLY tempted to strangle them.
I almost wish the rockets would of lost to portland and maybe portland would of beat the lakers last season and the magic would of been champs instead. Since I hate the lakers so much.
very true observation! the and1 klomar got on ariza had way less contact than the ab foul. the refs routinely blew calls last night and it was the most evident when they had to go back to the replay when the official who was maybe 15 ft in front of me gave the ball to the lakers when everyone and the one eyed guy in the stands could see it was rockets ball. thank god for replays in b-ball now
4 Other major observations: - The refs used the instant replay to overturn a call at the end of the game. This was awesome. They should have done that with the brooks "on the floor foul" at the end of the game- should be more consistent. - Kobe used what he learned from Hakeem -the ability to get deeper in the post. - We are able to compete with the best. - Ariza / Artest swap was a much better deal for us.
That call was critical, and I don't know what a continuation is at this point. AB was in the air when the whistle blew and he flipped up the ball as soon as his arm was released. Moral victories alwas suck, but how many in the NBA are now thinking we have no talent?
That pisses me off that hakeem was helping kobe improve his game to beat the rockets, I bet Magic Johnson wouldn,t work with any of the rockets.
Magic Johnson is a douche-bag who will do anything to promote himself and his brand. Hakeem is just a nice guy giving back to the sport that gave him so much. Of all the things to dislike about Kobe, his praising and specifically seeking out Hakeem for some pointers isn't one of them.
I think Hakeem is willing to work with anyone who wants his help (NBA players) when he is in Houston for a short time each year. He's helped Okafor, Yao and Bryant and probably a few others as well. I bet Kobe was the first guard to actually ask him for help on post moves and he probably loved the idea
You have to go early when you are losing that is basketball one on one, just in case that you miss you can still foul and have a chance to tie the game with the 3, especially when you have a T.O. They should have call that a continuation, no excuse for that just a Bias call of the Refs. BTW can someone post that video on Youtube of the non continuation call?
Hakeem should have taught Ariza and Budinger how to get deeper in the post. He should have froze out Kobe.
