I have this girl (ex) messaging me "Good morning!" every single day..

    I can't stand it..

I'm with you on the "insincere" text messages.

    That's not insincere - that's creepy and stalker-ish!

Yeah, I got one today from someone I thought I didn't know as it said HV's Day baby...I was like you got the wrong guy, but it was a girl who wanted to hook up and moved away...

I'd rather text and save my phone minutes, but you won't see me holiday texts...that's ghey..

I enjoy getting SOME messages...but, for example, there was this chick who would blast out an inspirational text every day. It almost felt rude to say it, but at some point I just got fed up and told her - thanks for the nice little words of encouragement, but I don't need them and frankly they're eating up my plan quota unnecessarily.

If you're going to send me a text message, you'd better put a meaningful personal message in it. I don't appreciate spam.

To some it's like being on a mailing list...a little too impersonal. Then there are recipients who feel inclined to send one back, and for a little extra clicks, they add their own mailing list to the one-size fits-all reply.

It also depends on if the person has bothered to update his/her mailing list. Getting a text from a person you haven't talked since graduation isn't the best way to know you're still in their thoughts.

I guess somethings are better than nothing, but I understand how some people can get annoyed.

Mass texts messages are only acceptable when telling others which bar to meet up at.

it's equivalent to one of those e-mail forwards where you're BCCed and you know the person sent a generic card to everyone on their e-mail list. It's nice that they did it, but it still seems impersonal knowing that they sent the exact same generic thing to every single person.

if it's an email it's free and and it doesn't interrupt me when i'm doing something else, if it's generic it still bothers me, don't try and say something sincere through mass communication

i have plenty of friends and a lot of family, if i don't talk to them on a particular holiday we know when we see each other that we missed each other no need for a mindless message

keep you text keep your email

Either you are old or have no friends. Who doesn't text know days.
