A nice gesture - fun thing during the holidays is to fix your girlfriend breakfast in bed. This is an idea for that: French toast 4 to 5 eggs 1/4 cup half and half one Teaspoon vanilla One cup powdered sugar 2 tablespoons regular granulated sugar 4 pieces white bread Directions: Mix up the eggs in a large enough bowl you can fit the bread in without tearing it up. Using one of those wire things is best, but a fork will do-mix em up good. Add the half and half and stir it up. Add Vanilla and stir. Add the powdered sugar and granulated sugar. Blend up best you can. Set aside while you get the other part ready. Use a non-stick pan-if you do not have one - buy a cheap one at Marshalls, Target, or Walmart-it will make it easier. You can use a regular black iron skillet, but the sticking is a problem and the bread is kind of delicate all soaked with the egg mixture. I am lazy and the non stick works best. Put a tablespoon of vegetable oil in the skillet and heat to a low temperature. When pan warms up and the oil spreads out wipe out the pan leaving a light residual coating of the oil-not much - you do not need it with the non stick pan. The pan should be at a low heat setting-makes it easier to control the rate of cooking of the egg. Put the white bread in the egg- sugar mixture letting it soak in a bout 20 to 30 seconds is plenty- you want near saturation, but do not want it to fall apart. In my pan I fix 2 pieces at a time. Handle the bread with a wide spatula to avoid breaking. After the egg cooks a little switch to a new spatula or wash the one you are using to avoid raw egg contamination. I'm a little paranoid about germs because I do not really know about proper cooking procedure- just to play it safe. Place the soaked bread in the pan and sprinkle cinnamon on the bread. Give it 3 minutes before you turn it to allow the bottom to partially cook. Turn it about every 2 minutes or more keeping the pan low so you do not burn the outside. Take your time it may take about 15 minutes to get it cooked through. As a side -fix up some fruit in a bowl to serve with the french toast. Strawberries, grapes, tangerines-you know. I serve this in bed to my wife with a glass of orange juice in a fancy wine glass. Also serve coffee. If you go to Marshalls or TJ Maxx look for some of those colorful plates near where they sell the cookpans. You can also find cheap fancy wine glasses. It will make a nice touch. This will give her a nice surprise on the weekend morning. You will be BIG PIMPIN'.
Crap, I've got it backwards, it seems. I have breakfast in the living room in front of the TV and eat my girl on the table.
Its always a good idea to cook for your woman. Woman really enjoy guys who can cook and a good meal, moderately spicy and not too heavy, is a good lead in to her giving you some dessert.
yeah........ mine will definitely be making holiday sandwiches if you know what i mean her most recent project...
