I had seen an edited versus where they cut out MJ's more awkward phrases. He is bitter. I am surprised he still holds it. I guess that's who he is. I mean, he seems that he took every slight really personally...and used it to motivated himself. But it's because he took it so personally that it motivated him, so personally, that he'd hold onto a grudge for the rest of his life.
I think it is ironic that Jordan believes its the players, not the organizations, that win championship. He is such a lousy front office guy himself. I mean, what if his whole playing career was stuck in an organization such as the Clippers, or the Grizzlies, or the Bobcats (oops!)?
I think it makes sense for Jordan to say "its the players.." - that takes away his accountability as GM for the Bobcats sucking... and gets himself all the credit for the Bulls success... Had he and Hakeem switched places, I'm not sure the Bulls would have been less successful and the Rockets any more
I think after a while the guy became so jaded that he had to put a chip on his shoulder, even when there was no reason for one to be there. He had to invent slights to help get him going, for some reason. I don't recall Bird, Magic, and other great players being quite so touchy about that. When Bird was dissed by Rodman and Isiah Thomas after the 87' Eastern Conference Finals, he laughed it off. Jordan always seemed enraged by the suggestion that anyone was even close to his level.
