I love my epiphone les paul. it's a really good bang for the buck guitar. The PRS is really awesome though. Its so versatile for having humbuckers. I run it through a vox AC-30 and the cleans are breathtakingly bright. even better than some of the fender strats I've heard. and it packs some serious punch with overdrive. I'm not crazy about the finish but love everything else about it.
I'm an avid harmonica player for the last ten years. i prefer a Hohner diatonic harp in the blues style, but will play a folk or campfire tune on request, as well as familiar kids tunes and stuff like that. I have challenged myself to learn the chromatic harmonica in the classical/jazz style of stevie wonder, but it is a whole different musical animal. I'm currently playing with a church band,as well as playing with a "school of rock" style kids band at my job, and have recorded a couple of sessions for what will hopefully be a part of a television or film soundtrack... i love these threads, clutchfans has some musical talent , yo
I played saxophone for many years. Middle school all through college. I miss playing; I ought to get back into it.
I get laid. I don't have time for musical instruments. Spoiler That was my best Ronny impersonation. To answer the OP, I can play the guitar, piano and drums (in order of least suckiness to most). I have really short and fat fingers, which shattered my dreams of becoming a guitarist at an early age. As you can imagine, there wasn't much competition in the Middle East in the early 1990's, I was going to take the region by storm. Damn genetics. Damn you dad. I can also DJ. I'm not talking about just lining up two mp3's by tempo lol.
this would be a cool/fun/easy way to learn an instrument <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/mTS16klgqMU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
If they could make something like that I would love to try it. I don't know about guitar, drums or bass but I imagine something like that could be rigged up pretty easily for a keyboard by mounting a screen on top of the keyboard.
They do have keyboards where red dots light up on the keys you're supposed to play when you're supposed to play them. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rEo-mA0PfGM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Yup. I have several of these, and use them in the classroom for kids who have trouble orienting themselves with the keys. I refuse to use letter-labels for the keys: I think they're an educational crutch.
