Good point. Part one should read: Part #1. Republican Congress, Republican President = Blame the Democratic Minority
Kudos to you basso. You found an article by the one person who knows the way this administration will be seen by the eyes of history. I was hoping that this guy with his super powers wouldn't use his power of looking into the future but I guess he just couldn't help it. It's odd that in the future historians won't be able to catch the incorrect assertions this guy wrote in his article, and I guess nobody will every know why they weren't able to see it.
How can we really argue with the thread title? Can anyone argue that Bush was left? *thank you, thank you! great crowd tonight*
Poor spin job. More Americans died to muslim terrorists under Bush than any other president. After September 11th, more Americans lost their lives to Al Qaeda and Iraqi terrorists than in NYC.
The title reminded me of this <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/o-z2D9lo9-8&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/o-z2D9lo9-8&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
wow, its like someone stuck a turd into a time capsule. these guys have probably all committed suicide since then.
That was great. I hope these guys tour I would love to see them. Heck I will volunteer my band to open for them. I mean a band with a Chinese guy playing Irish Rebel Tunes will make as much sense as these guys.
Here's a Newsweek list of GW Bush's best and worst moments. http://www.newsweek.com/id/179355/?GT1=43002
The final CBS / NYT poll on GW Bush's approval ratings put him at 22% approval. The lowest ever for an outgoing president since they started taking the poll.
Three of his "best" moments were tied to the Iraq debacle and another was essentially a photo op that now only resonates as one of the greatest wasted opportunities in our history.
saw another poll, had him at 34%. who cares? as W said seven and a half years ago, "We are in a fight for our principles, and our first responsibility is to live by them." we are safer today, than we were that day - the big topic is goslingofascists, not islamofascists -- and we all have W to thank for that.
So he's a failure even by his own words. I know I will regret asking this, but what's a goslingofascist? Are you now afraid of migrating geese? Is Ryan Gosling trying to take over America between takes?
Bush lost the fight for our principles unless you believe torture is one of our principles. In addition I would like to see the link that says we are safer today. The last thing I saw said the opposite, but that was a while back.
He's talking about geese. Basso had a bit in the thread about the US Airways flight that crashed in the Hudson about Huffington post defending the rights of geese even after they caused the plane to fail.
Only issues there is he is talking about the Democrats in control of Congress during the Clinton years...except Republicans had both houses for the last 6 years. This article makes little attempt to hide its bias and it shows. That alone discredits it. The fact that its a historian defending Bush's reign through the "wait and see" argument without actually waiting makes it almost comical.
