On March 11, I started a thread asking why nobody here thought the Pacers had a chance of winning the NBA championship.

I for one thought they did, and that Detroit would be a major obstacle.

When Detroit won the East, I voted "Detroit in 5" in ESPN's poll. They had all of the possibilities covered, and I know there were something like 2% of the people saying Detroit in 5 or less.

Face it-- the West has depth of talent, but the defensive intensity of the Pistons and Pacers, combined with their youth and athleticism, has made the top 2 teams in the East into the top 2 teams in the NBA.

Personally I'm hoping the Pacers trade for Tracy McGrady. Artest-Bender might get it done.

If you're talking about me, I meant that he wasn't the best player in the league, or even top 5 probably. He wasn't in the Jordan, Barkley, David Robinson, Ewing, or Olajuwon area. Top 10 maybe.

i agree..the NBA is all about matchups. the pistons matched up very well with the Lakers...i don't think the Pacers match up like that with the Lakers.

Agreed, I was pulling for the Pistons thru that Indiana series because I thought the pacers had no one to match up with shaq, much less 2 or 3 people.
