That's right, Sir! No matter how many good nights a player has brought to fans, once he is old or injured the Rox fans will dump him like a trash. And they call it the BEST fan forum.
Yep, you said it right, good nights. How many great nights have we had in the during his time here? I dont think we've had a great win since 95 in my book. Good and great are 2 different things my friend.
Unfortunately for you, we have a NEW chance to win a championship this year, and I'd like to take it. That includes caring about how players are doing this season - not in the past. Being sentimental is great (for the off season). One of the things that comes with a fan forum is lots of differing opinions...
Don't care Yao's name. But Ichiro is his first name and Suzuki is his family name. Don't you know "Suzuki"?
Those of you calling Yao his "last name" would do well to avoid confusion by calling it his "surname".
There were many great nights to me. The night Novak hit the last second 3 pointer to keep our 22 straight wins, the night Battier had blood on his face and we beated Lakers on their home court in playoff, the night that Yao came back from a hard fall and led Rockets pass the first round. To me, they were all great nights. Yes, the night of the season's last game is the greatest night of the year, but admit it, that night already passed long time ago for Rockets fans. You have to enjoy what life brings you now instead of chewing the old glory over and over again. Anyway, I still enjoy the nights that I think are GREAT. Moreover, I think everyone deserve some respect no matter we are winning or losing.
You are right. It's just so many people show no respect at all. It made me so sad. They could just pass this thread instead of saying those disturbing words. I don't know how they will feel if others call them wrong and refuse to correct or EVEN CARE.
Big deal! He is not complaining so leave that issue alone. He has more physical and basketball issues to deal with. So long as we respect him for who he is as a human being, and we respect his people and culture without the mimicking then everyone will be alright. On the basketball side of the issue, Yao is doing better than expected, at this stage of his comeback and that will only help the Rockets as the season moves along. I am glad Yao is being patient about it all.
yao ming, ming yao, mao ying who gives a... hes still the 7'6 giant that we need to step it up. until yao himself shows concern of how nba.com arranged his name, you shouldnt put too much thought into it
By your standard, if Yao didn't complain about how he was treated by the NBA referees, we shouldn't bother either? I am not talking about this year...

Yes. Why would either of them care? It's not the big of a deal. M. Yao is incorrect and culturally insensitive because in china the family name goes first and you're putting it last. Y. Ming is fine because it is (a) in the correct order and (b) the last name is spelled out. Who cares if it's the family name or not? It's actually a sign of respect if people address him with only his first name, e.g. Michael, Lebron, Oscar, etc. And yeah, Yao doesn't care and noone else does either....
