Anybody watching this? https://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/hip-hop-uncovered It took awhile to get started at 1st its just talking about how gangs and drug dealers have influenced Rap but then it drills down on how specific artist and songs where influenced by who, that starts around episode 2. It is fascinating, I learned a lot of new stuff and some of these people I had not heard of and they are as influential as Russell Simmons. Some very interesting stuff about Tupac and the Death Row vs Bad Boy stuff and how the music industry is more cutthroat than the drug game. So far 10/10 for me and it is replaying on FX this weekend I think so everybody can catch up with it. Highly Highly recommend. Haitian Jack is a revelation, he has some stuff to say about Tupac.
At 1st I was like this is people just trying to pump themselves up but when they start talking about Tupac and what Bimmy had done I was like WHOA! Bimmy is somebody I had no idea of as well. Whitney and bobby bailed him out on a 2 million dollar bail.
Now you got me going down the rabbit hole, I am listening to the rape accuser of Tupac and I need to watch a lot of other stuff.
@jiggyfly tell me she don't look just like Tracy! Watching this first episode reminds me of when I went to Grissom Elementary in Houston in 2nd grade in 1980 and was fighting pretty much daily. It was a K-6th grade school and I swear I was the only white kid. It got to a point where I was starting the fights with kids in sixth grade because I knew it was coming anyway. We moved to Alvin the next year. I looked up the demographics for that zip code and now: The largest 77045 racial/ethnic groups are Hispanic (48.6%) followed by Black (47.8%) and White (2.7%). There were a lot of Hispanics but I think it was more Black at the time.
She does I can't deny. I worked in conroe a while back and could not believe it was predominantly hispanic after being Lilly white when I grew up.
Weird. I was watching those 2 videos last night. lol. Vlad is hated, but his interviews are great to listen to.
I thought Vlad had finally grown on everyone -- the dude gets literally everybody to sit down and talk freely about crazy stories (inset FBI joke here).
He did, but then he started pissing people off because it looked like he was just getting one person to talk bad about another to increase his hits and make money. A lot of people thought he was just taking advantage of hip-hop culture to make money. BTW, check out his interview with Boosie about Mike Tyson (and his interview with Tyson, for that matter). They talk about how Tyson in some interviews just starts losing and the person doing the interviewing is in a "uh oh... how do I get out of this?" situation. lol. Vlad interviewed Tyson and that happened with him. He said he was sitting in the middle of the ring and his security was on the outside of the ring while he interviewed Tyson. He was afraid security wouldn't be able to get to him before Tyson may lose it and deck him. Boosie just said his security would should Tyson. LOL. Vlad's also branched out into interviewing Mafia members and crap now. lol
Dort only fan 4 lyfe https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Dorf man that's pretty aggressive I hope you were talking about Dort.
