btw, we take requests too, and any number of the artists mentioned on this thread are game. We are no strangers to the world of hiphop....trust me, so call in and fire away....thats what we're here for.
hey samar, thanks for sharing that link! I am really impressed with the catalog on Pandora, I listen to a lot of ambient/post rock-shoegaze, not exactly your most popular genre, but WOW does Pandora have a good amount of artists in there! it would be nice if they added international artists. but i will be listening to pandora a lot more!
lipsyncers although i love to jam to their first two albums (and no not the pre eazy-e one), i just dont have any respect for them anymore
It's interesting how a Canadian rapper from Toronto has so many Houston references in his mixtape. There's even an official screwed and chopped version of So Far Gone.
Ya when i first heard his music i figured he was from the Houston area, but suprisingly he is Canadian. I like the Houston references though, represent! Chilcutt
Weird. I am 100% sure they weren't lip syncing when I saw them in concert. It was quit a while ago though (2002).
Yeah same here. It was even stranger since I first heard of this kid while I was in Toronto for work.
Yup, I'm pretty sure you can tell they're for real when they drop the beat completely and go a cappella.
Check Big L....one of the nastiest to ever do it. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yPdevf4bS9w&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yPdevf4bS9w&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Fire!!!
No, I was in Denver at the Parmount Theater - a very small venue. I was in the front row and there were no barricades or security between the crowd and the stage. People in the front had a ton of interaction with the rappers (high fives, passing/receiving items to/from them, the crowd singing into the mic while they held it out, etc). The guy directly next to me handed his blunt straight to Wish, who proceeded to take a few hits off it, then give it back. Pretty insane atmosphere, in general. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they did use track vocals and lip synched at times, but like I said, I'm positive they weren't doing it on that night I saw them.
I really enjoy Atmosphere have yall heard of the jewish rapper? Or at least that's what he's known as. its a mix of hip-hop and reggae. pretty cool stuff IMO. Matisyahu is his name "King without a crown" would probably be his better known song.
