Hinrich is a classic player without a real position. He's a very good defensive point guard, but he's not a good enough playmaker to be an effective point guard on offense. He's actually a better shooting guard than point guard, but he can get abused on the post. He's best playing point beside a playmaking shooting guard like Brandon Roy, or switching positions offense/defense, like the Rockets did with David Wesley and Bob Sura.
Why would the Wiz want Lowry? It's been argued here that he's overpaid for a backup here, so he would be there too. Yes, Hinrich makes more, but there are reasons for that. And although that would make sense in basketball terms, it doesn't seem too in financial terms. Again, it's been said we're paying too much for the backup PG spot, and this would be a step in the wrong direction. A multi team deal could make this happen, but if it does, it won't be till the deadline, and it would like be part of moving a more prominent player (Iggy, Anthony)....I would guess.
I would have to be Brooks, i have no problem anyways, Lowry prooved to be good as a backup, why change? The only problem is Hinrich´s excessive contract, but well. We already have Martin´s.
KL's situation is classic about taking a guy from a role in which he is a perfect fit and saying, "OK, now you're a 38 mpg guy." But, he's not.
can we trade players any time before the FEB. deadline? if so, why hasnt anything been done??? answer my ponder? plz! all this losing has me in a rockets wins withdrawal! it feels horrrible
Ive been saying to get hinrich for the last 3 years... we've got a halfcourt team, not a buncha speedsters in our first unit, we jus need someone to run the floor and get the ball where it needs to go.
Because...it takes two teams to trade. Because...summer signings cannot be traded before 15 December. Because...teams are rarely ready to wheel'n'deal without a deadline. Because...in Rox case...no one is lighting any other team's fire.
LOL at reading comprehension failures in USA school systems. I said I would reconsider, not that I would change my mind. Comprende, amigo? DD
didn't look at his contract what is it? and he is not bad, he is a legit pg who can shoot and play defense, he's also not 6 foot or under
ab n battier or jeffries for hinrich.... wiz ditch a pricey contract at a superfluos position for a couple expiring contracts.... jeffries or battier n km for melo...they get a decent name in km - so they dont get totally ganked, some cap space with jeffries expiring contract n a draft pick or two to fill it.... yao/miller/chuck scola/hill/pat melo/bud lee/lowry/jt hinrich/lowry/ish sprinkle our draft picks around...throw in a center if someone wants one....dish jt is anyone wants....use an exception or two if anyone wants to ditch a crappy contract....or grab a benchwarmer or two... ...couldnt be worse than recent times....
