Fully agree, except I am not that mature when it comes to posters who condescended other posters Sengunatics, blaming them to support an unatletic, slow player with no defense in expense of the rockets future and they had no understanding of basketball. It is not the guess right or wrong thing.

But again you are right. It is not the best behaviour.

He's made categorical improvement as a defender and as a shooter. Is this even in question?

@DaDakota, where you get "Sengun is Arab" idea?

Arabs/Arabic is much closer to Indo-Europeans than Turks/Turkish.

Turkish is sister language to Japanese-Korean-Mongolian-Hungarian-Finnish-Estonian (TransEurasian languages used to be called Ural-Altai languages, you can use whichever suits you) and has no connection to Arabic-French-English-German (but there are lots of similarities with Latin because of Etruscans).

I really wonder where did you get the idea. It is something like saying Argentines are from North Pole.

    Please advise.

Props - I will try to find some of my worst GARM takes and self-report. Plenty to choose from. Not about Sengun, but other stuff.

    That's a news to me.

It's easy to infer that Tukish are close to Arab culture based on the geographical location and religion (Muslim) alone.

But believing all that you wrote is true, it is no surprise that a regular American won't know that either.

Heck, a regular American can't tell the capital of Portugal without Google.

I knew the language thing because my mother is from Korea. Basically, there were a few Mongolians at the camp fire who went "ok, whom are we gonna massacre next", and then some went to Turkey, some to Finland, some to Korea lol.

It is good to see one of our young guys work out, and Alpi seems to be a happy and joyful person to be around, not all of the young guys we had would have been able to deliver on the character side if they were this succesful. One thing I did observe prior to Alpi growing into the player he is today, is that there are a lot of SOFs that seemed to really care more about one guy even it meant it came at the expense of someone else on the team. This type of mentality gave me flash backs to the Lin era, and I still see some of this on Rockets social media from Turkish fans, where they bash the team and say we are not worthy of having Sengun and that he will go to another team etc, many of those fans were actually wrong as well as they said Alpi would not find success on the Rockets, and he clearly has. I am hoping these people are the minority or they become fans of the org, because I can not stand another Lin situation. I had a fairly hopeful stance on Alpi, and at his worst I did not want to entertain a trade until we had a legitimate coach who could develop him, and it turns out that made a world of difference. Hopefully now that the majority have recognized Alpi's talent we can enjoy the growth of him and the other guys on the team together.

For Turks, Islam is as good as when convenient with the original Turkic religion: Tengriism. Islam propose a single god, very convenient to Gok Tanri (Celestial God), bans pork (Turks did not eat pork because pig was symbolising Chinese, the original enemy),etc..

But Islam decrease the role of woman in society (not good for matriarchal Turks, 70 % of faculty staff in Turkey women, even 38 % of engineers), bans alcohol (not good for Kimiz-fermented horse milk drinking Turks),etc.

The original Turkic religion is atavistic and kind of animist and you find special celebration nights in Turkish Islam (kandils, candela) and Turkic people's love for animals is unparalelled in worldwide. There is no "kandils-special masses for the religious figures/events" and most of non-Turk muslims hate dogs and other animals. Veery different cultures.

For Americans: I used to work in NC and people asked me where I was from:
    Answer: Turkey
    Where?
    Istanbul
Ooooh, I see, next to Colombia
Yup, I am from Istanbul, next to Colombia

I am accustomed to, no problem :)

There is no "Mongol/Mongolia" mention in history before 840 A.D. They were part of "Budun/Nation". Mongol is a quite recent occurence.

Piercey is a huge lob threat enthusiast he was a massive i mean massive Bruno fan. It literally takes 5 minutes to tell his ceiling is 30% of Capela but these dudes kept dickriding a guy, a lob threat, who couldn't finish alley-oops. Like he wasn't capable of grabbing the ball in mid air.

Honestly, I'm amazed with your ability to turn every basketball-related thread into a sociocultural struggle.

First of all I am an old guy, it is normal to give Walter Matthau type of reactions.

Secondly, let's say debate/unnecessary information/.. Struggle is not good description. How a Korean-Turkic friendship creates a struggle?

Third: Turkic Khaganate was the most powerful state of the world at the 6th century. This kind of animations might help people to learn/realize what happened in the past.
