I was a huge fan of Ted and Robin, but as the story progressed I didn't feel like they fit anymore imo. Like I said in earlier posts I didn't like how they went about this season if they were gonna go the direction they did. The only problem I felt was wrong with the finale was pacing. Should have had this season go into their future more. And based on the 18 minutes they cut from the finale, it was definitely rushed.
Bro Lost had an amazing and very fitting finale, you were probably one of those people who thought they were dead the whole time when they weren't. sorry for getting off track
If you like endings that basically gave no answers and didn't explain much, then you would like the ending of LOST
Oh please. How typical of you Rocketman. Folks here were having a nice, polite discussion about whether or not they liked/disliked the series finale. Nobody here was being argumentative. Nobody here is trying to convert others to their point of view. Rather, folks were merely expressing their reaction to the show in a cordial manner without engaging in personal attacks. I realize this is a concept that is somewhat alien to you but you really ought to give it a try once in a while.
It's not a personal attack to point out that I disagree with you on nearly every topic you post on (thanks for proving my point yet again) or that you do not speak for all fans of the show when you say they completely misread their audience.
Terrible terrible terrible ending. It could not have been worse. Ok i take that back. It woud have been worse if marshal and Lilly died, and the kids were actually Marvin and their second child. It is just à horrible ending. I have to admit i was getting really sick of all the Ted and Robin drama the last couple of seasons. I Will explain why this was à stupid ending. 1.Robin and Ted do not match at all. They have nothing in common and already broke up before. 2. Tracy was the perfect match for Ted. She really was the ideal woman for him, They really had the Same interests etc. 3. This season They showed how god there life was together and then they kill her 4. Ted is basically telling his kids that They are à mistake and hè has always been in love with Robin, and not their mom. Just à terrible ending. I have never been this disapointed with a series finale.
I've never watched this show so as an outsider it seems like his point of view seems to be in line with the majority of what i've heard. I'm hearing lots of complaints which is part of why I clicked on this thread to see what all the fuss is about.
seems like you weren't able to interpret what the producers were trying to say and you're just spitting out nonsense 1. ever heard of opposites attract? you don't have to necessarily have the same interest as your s/o. you love your s/o for who they are. 2. and that's why they got married and had 2 children and was by her side when she got sick. 3. the story was about how he met their mother 4. how does Ted say anything close to they were a mistake and always in love with Robin? He was happily in love with Tracy, but she suffered an illness and passed away. You have to move on after a few years, and that's what he did. He rekindled a relationship with Robin again as the kids said she's always around anyways. He told the story to basically tell himself it's okay to date again and asked his kid if it will be okay for him to date Robin.
1. They had plenty in common. They broke up because one wanted commitment & children, but the other one didn't. 2. She was, but she died. 3. Yeah, it sucked, but death often does 4. In no shape or form did he say that. He was very loving about their mother. He even rejected Robin, and unlike all other girlfriends, his relationship with Tracy was never complicated by his feelings for Robin, because they no longer were there. He had finally met the one. After 6 years, I think it is okay for Ted to move on. I guess Tracy never loved her fiancee, since she was able to move on.
This should have been the ending... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/0caCEG1nH3E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Didn't watch the finale and actually was done with the show once I realized how much of a departure the season was from the rest of the series. I guess sentimentally it's hard to back away from a show's main romantic arc as it was on Friends, but it's a shame that platonic intergender friendships can't stand on their own creatively. Dramatically I thought the Stella and Zoe storylines were so well cast, written and instrumental in Ted's character development that I didn't necessarily need to see the final resolution. Also I think Robin and Barney were actually perfect for each other: upwardly mobile alpha-type personalities with daddy issues.
If that was the ending, then it wouldn't make sense that practically the whole show didn't even include the mother (since he's supposed to be telling the story of how they met).
The whole show makes little sense anyway. They should've abandoned their devotion to this gimmick premise once Ted's story-time with his kids turned into a 9-season long story.
My $0.02.... They should have made the last episode last the entire season. I felt the relationship between Ted and Tracy could have been great for the show and they could have handled her passing in a much better way. It felt way too rushed. Plus, the kids were just too joyous with regard to Ted getting with Robin. It was just weird and creepy. I actually was ready to stop watching the show during last season but just kept with it to see how it ended. If Tracy had been brought in earlier I think I might have enjoyed it better overall.
But that is how they met. Lots of good ways to end it, and ending it at that moment was one of them. It was a mostly great 9 year run.
I'm going to treat everything after that moment the same way I treat Episodes I, II, and III of Star Wars. As far as I'm concerned they didn't happen.
