I think Armstrong will suprise some folks, the dude can move, defend and has some skills around the bucket...in the end he could be a nice backup to Yao next year at a nice price.
I think from here on out, Luis Scola will get roughly 80% of the minutes at PF. Scola has been very consistent- I feel that Morey sees that in Scola, Scola will be getting more valuable playing time on the court (32-35 minutes). --It is clear that Landry will be missed, but you have to look at the bright side, we have Scola, a World Class player, who is currently at his prime taking up most of the minutes. --Expect to see Scola's numbers to go up and Hilton, Kenny Thomas to play limited role minutes.
There is one big difference though, in my opinion, with Dorsey they were able to send him to the D-League until he finally seemed to get it, they obviously can't do that here. If it's a case of know-how I'm sure Armstrong can be taught but if it's motivation and work ethic (which seems to be the implication in other posts) that will be a lot trickier...
Is this guy included in the deal? I did see on Chron Sports that he's part of the deal, but the major outlets aren't showing him in the deal.
Thanks. All I keep seeing is KMart, Jordan Hill, Jeffries, and draft picks. Nothing about Hilton. I think Hilton can contribute to this team as a backup at C to Yao. But this season, I think he can clog up that paint for 10-15 min a game.
LOL, ESPN had the Kings getting him, although he is already a King. Weird. I dont think the Rox are getting him.
if we do get Hilton, our front court looks solid, we suddenly have 6 10 pf and centers now lol... no more abusing the Chuck wagon!
Um, the abusing of the Chuck wagon comes on the offensive end. I'll take Chuck playing post defense on any post player in the league over Armstrong or Jeffries. Now, having one of those guys on the weakside coming over to block shots is going to be a treat.
Haven't watched many games this year but Andrew Bynum was shooting right over Hayes last time we played the Lakers.
fyi (not blaming you cause there is a lot of traffic here), but here is the thread already going with discussion about Hilton Armstrong. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?p=5114707
Give the guy a chance... Dont make such hasty judgements. You did that same thing with Brooks and Landry in the draft. We dont need him to be a starter, just a solid backup. He is a near 7 footer, physical, and active in the paint. We need that on this team. He can finish well around the basket. Lets just see what he can do in these last two months.
