Yes it's the best I have. I am angry and sad and upset that an idiotic racist demagogue will now sully the Oval Office with his dangerous presence. I am even more upset that so many white fellow American citizens of mine felt like this was exactly the right idea - that this is their country, and not anybody else. I am scared for myself and my kids about growing up in a country that does even pretend to try to protect the powerless at the expense of the powerful. Having to explain to my kids that sometimes the bullies win when we don't do enough to stop them was a horrible experience yesterday.

If that makes you happy - great for you? I guess? At least somebody is happy. Not sure what you want me to say.

Yeah, except 29% of Hispanics voted for Trump. Another 6% voted for other. If Trump's rhetoric doesn't galvanize among a group of people he spent a year vilifying and threatening... I just don't think skin color was the issue.

In fact, the Democrats HAVE to get away from this idea that they HAVE to nominate someone of color, IMO. Frankly, their best bet would be a white Midwesterner, judging by Tuesday night's results. Beyond that, poor white people in the country, desperate for someone - anyone - to do something, see a Democratic party that does not believe their plight is as urgent as others of a different race, religion and/or sexual orientation. And that's a BIG problem.

There's one party that speaks to these people - not on issues; the Republicans do not give a flying **** about poor people - but they're pro-gun and pro-religion. When neither party is offering a thing, you take what you can get. And then you watch the President of the United States mock you for it and, well, say hello to President Trump.

The road map for the Democrats in 2020 is to stop looking at this country as groups that can be prioritized, and to start looking at it collectively as a series of issues they can solve.

I've seen this stat tossed around via one exit poll - but I've also seen other exit polls that tend to contradict this - again it's an exit poll so who the f knows.

I'm calling it now, Warren will lead the way. She'll fire up the bernie supporters that FELT that were left behind by Clinton and she'll expose the inevitable corruption of Trump's term.

She'll make the case that the people were right not to trust Washington and want to shake things up, that they just chose the wrong person to do it. Unlike Bernie she's not a socialist either and is all about fighting for the middle class.

    Wasn't it, though?

I've not seen much contrition or extension of good-will from conservatives.

Most of them are like "welp, this sucks, but yay I guess?" and the other half are like "WOOO F*** YOU LOLOOLOL"

Well the conservative position seems to be "Suck it up." I'm just saying say it to everyone that feels affected by Trump's win. Including the spur of anti-muslim violence we have growing.

Warren is 67 - these missing sanders supporters are too few and not really in the right places.

Fact of the matter is that if African americans in Milwaukee, Detroit, and Philadelphia turnout in anything ike 2012 numbers, we are having an entirely different conversation now (thanks electoral college) - they kind of are a must-have.

Is Warren the person to do that? Maybe, but it's hard to think that another septugenarian policy wonk is going to be the x factor here.

I'm as big a Hillary supporter as you could find but lets all just come to accept the result for what it is. We'll hear what Trump has to say and when he and the Republicans propose policies that we don't like, we'll do our best to prevent them.

Look this could turn into Kansas where they railroaded the entire state with insane tax and social policy. But this is what we voted for and in two years maybe Democrats can try and change things in the next election.

There are lessons to be learned from this election. And Democrats need to think a little harder about how they message and campaign. I'm sad we don't have a female president yet and I'm even more sad that we have a president who has said openly racist and sexist statements. If Trump wants to be the president for all Americans then I hope he decides to act like the type of person who can give confidence to an entire nation. Otherwise the next two years will make the later half of the Bush administration look like peace and harmony.

I think she may ultimately be like Bernie - right message; wrong messenger. I just don't know if an east coast elite will play in flyover country.

But who knows anything?! America just elected Trump president so F me.

I guess we'll see, I Guess Cory Booker has as good a chance.

I think though that the DNC has a lot of good candidates. The only thing I hope for is that they all let them go at it in the primaries and stay completely out of the way of it and then just follow the leader.

It's not just Sam. There has been an 8 year Liberal dog pile act in this forum that just got b**** slapped by Donald Trump. I'd say Sam was more of a lone wolf than some of the others around here. I do give him credit for making the attempt to take a little heat in the face of defeat. He has a larger ego than most of the other Libs around here and it's got to be tough to come here after losing to Trump. It's like the Bad News Bears run ruling you without Kelly Leak.

This election is a wake-up call that neither party is going anywhere despite the wishful Liberals boasting taunts of such.
