MSNBC hosts are shocked to discover that young college women in New Hampshire are offended by Hillary Clinton 'Playing the woman's card.'

Here is a YouTube video of the interviews of some of these young women in New Hampshire and the subsequent astonishment of the MSNBC hosts that the identity politics ploy on which Hillary Clinton's candidacy is largely based is not only not working, it is in many cases demonstrably backfiring:

This just in: Sanders has the progressive youth vote, including young women.

The shrinking lead among women that Hillary has over Sanders reflects her shrinking lead among all voters. Go look at a graph of the final month of Sanders vs. Clinton in Iowa leading up to last weeks' primary. Or even national polls. A lot of the electorate isn't really aware of Sanders, and as he keeps coming up in the news, more people search him and learn about him.

It wasn't "enough" for Hillary to be a woman in 2008 either. So what? Once she wins the nomination, the far majority of Bernie's supporters (including or especially girls) will go back to her. (And I'm saying that as a Bernie supporter.)

It seems there are other much more relevant avenues of attack on Clinton than her supposed playing of the woman card.

At the same time, it looks like Gloria Steinem is taking heat from Bill Mayer and others for suggesting that women support Bernie to chase boys. Wow.

Of course Gloria is upset because women are not broadly supporting Hillary because she is a woman nearly as much as the the feminist left would like, which is an act of blatant sexism in its own right. So, here we ave sexism coming and going from the Gloria here.

So, ladies. Any of you supporting Bernie in order to "chase boys"? Gloria Steinem seems to think that many of you are.

Apparently this is a coordinated attack, as Madeline Albright has come out with the same sort of sexist rhetoric, just at the same time.

So Hillary's cavalry - sexist feminists playing "The Woman's Card' - have apparently arrived. Of course Hillary has been relieved of 'The Woman's Card' by Donald Trump, and her husband is a reminder to everyone what a champion of women's issues that she actually isn't. So she has to call others in to try to play it for her.

I wonder if it is just these two or if there are others coming. Probably there will be at least one or two more.

This really reeks of desperation. Maybe Hillary really is starting to panic. In any case, it doesn't feel like like the identity politics is working this time for Hillary Clinton, the way that it clearly did for Barack Obama.

All of Bernie's supporters would still vote for Clinton when they have to choose between her and GOP's.

I hope she doesn't get nominated

At the Huffington Post, they are sad because, because the efforts of Hillary and company to play 'The Woman's Card' in New Hampshire apparently had no effect. In fact, Bernie Sanders beat Hillary Clinton among women in New Hampshire by 11 points. So now they are weeping and wailing, 'Alas, Most Democratic Women In New Hampshire Are Going To Hell'.

Female solidarity was a horrible card to play. Poor Hillary Clinton just keeps getting her hopes dashed by the most unlikeliest of candidates. Still early in the game, though....

Yes, but Hillary losing female voters especially young women might derail her in the general election where she needs a huge Obama-like turnout to win. If young women stay home like they historically do then Hillary is done. Bernie Sanders has lit a fire in young voters with his ultra liberal views and promise of a revolution. I don't see Hillary - the Democrat's version of Jeb - being able to tap into that energy and enthusiasm among young voters to win in November as needed. Also her campaign's own assessment that she "has work to do among young voters" further shows how worried she is about the youth vote especially women.

But do those young women genuinely dislike her or do they just wanna be contrarians because they're afraid of being labled as "only voting for her because you're a woman"?

We'd be making the same mistakes as the Clinton campaign to not take seriously that these young women are making decisions outside their identities as women. It isn't likely that they are doing things because they are women. Sanders has a genuine pull and a genuine message.

These young people have been suffering through a depression sparked by years of de-regulation and just plain stupid policy under Bush. And watching years of Republican obstruction and Obama acquiescence, when the government should have been hustling furiously to get the economy on track and preserve middle class opportunity, has assuredly further liberalized young voters.

I am sure identity politics is coming in second to their sense of economic insecurity.

Very true on my feed as well. Environmentalists and Occupy Wall Street sympathizers particularly. They don't care for Obama either. They see Clinton and Obama as corporate Democrats, basically 1980's Republicans.
