I love it. Hilary is already starting the race desperate. The great thing about Obama, and what makes him such a strong candidate is once the charges start to get serious enough, one speech from about his faith, and pretty much anyone who hears it will have their doubts wiped away. It will in turn show the attacker to be weak, small-minded, and petty.

he wasnt even 10 years old when he was going to the islamic school. its not like he had a choice in the matter.

is this really all the ammo they have against the guy? im not even an obama supporter, but this stuff is getting rediculous.

its like basso and tradertexx, who spend all their time making fun of his name, but nothing about his politics.

I think it would be a huge mistake for the dems to back hillary, she is like Bush on blue side, where only 35% of the dems are really hardcore about here. Unless the intention is to lose the next election so the democrats don't have to clean up the Iraq problem, running Hillary would be a terrible mistake.

    Ugh...

If you read the transcripts (also at Media Matters) every one who mentioned the Hillary connection goes out of their way to assure their loyal audience that Republicans are not involved in this at all.

I also find it curious that a "leak" from Hillary's camp went to Insight instead of the Post or the NYTimes or to Obama's camp... and the coordination between Fox, Rush, etc., is amazing.

This is clearly a right-wing smear aimed to hurt both candidates.

It is also interesting that for Kerry, they went to his early 20's and now for Obama, they're going back to his pre-teen years.

Maybe for Richardson, they'll accuse him of using Spanish variations of Mom and Dad when he learned to talk.

I know T_J has posted about Obama's ultra-liberal voting record (assuming by tradertexx you meant Trader_Jorge and not bigtexxx), so that charge is factually innacurate.

"I'm in, and I'm in to win."

What the hell does that mean? Are there people in to lose?

I think every Presidential election has a number of candidates who realistically have no chance to win and recognize it, but run to either raise awareness on an issue, build their reputation, or position themselves for VP.

Bingo. The voting record alone makes him dead in the water. He's literally one of the most liberal politicians in Congress. The rest is just gravy.

I realize that...but not for a candidate of her "status." Do you think there are people out there who think she is just running for anything other than the presidency?

Did anyone notice that the eventual darkhorse winner tossed his hat in the ring? Yes, Gov. Bill Richardson has officially announced and I have already made my first donation to his cause.

I finally finished Obama's book, which should be re-titled "Platitudes on Parade." I watched Hillary trying to radiate warmth, but it still made my blood run cold. Two of my neighbors already are planning their "Anybody But Hillary" signs out in their front yards. And so it went.

However, Richardson is the only Presidential candidate so far with the whole ball of wax -- experience in domestic and international affairs, intelligence, candor, oratory skills and a common touch.

I think some might believe she's running to become our Dark Overlord.

For some reason I get the feeling there will be an Obama-Clinton ticket. I'd vote for them.

I have a hard time thinking a Republican will win this election...unless it is an extremely liberal Republican.

Richardson has a really tough road. Assuming Obama fails the depth test and background check and Hillary stumbles, Edwards will step in and clean up. If it weren't for Edwards, I'd give Richardson a decent shot because I think the chances are greater than 50% that neither Hillary nor Obama is the nominee. Edwards is intelligent and has better oratory skills than Richardson or any of the Dems, IMO. He would have beaten Bush in 2004 if the Dems had been smart enough to nominate him.

Like Giuliani? I think he can beat Clinton and Obama easily due to his 9/11 heroics. While the evangelicals won't like him, they will pick the lesser of two evils.

I am voting for the electronic voting machines to win the election.

The difference between Hillary and Bush is they are given different assignments from the globalist wealthy banker/industrialist elite they work for.

Does anyone get the idea that Obama is running for second? He's trying to present himself as above the fray. He's made no effort to move to the center, which is typically necessary for a Presidential hopeful. He's been successful at using his celebrity wave for popularity, but despite the fact that he's the most talked about candidate, he's got roughly half the support of Hilary. I think he's hoping that if he is in the mix, while not being politically nasty, he would be the front runner for a VP bid.

I dont think so. Obama doesn't have to move to center. As Obama himself has said those terms are outdated, and aren't part of his message. Though he has avoided saying he would cut off funding for the soldiers in Iraq which may be what it will take to get them out of Iraq, so that position is more centrist.

By labeling things Centrist, Liberal or Conservative it divides people into groups, and Obama has said he is more about bringing people together. He calls that the politics of the 60's and the past. It is old.

And the reason he says that is because his position is VERY far left of center, and he knows it. Obama is literally one of the most liberal politicians in the Senate. If he thinks flowery language can obfuscate that, then he's even dumber than what I take him for.

Yet in his time in Illinois he brought together people from all over the political spectrum to agree with him, support him and work on issues he championed.

So he philosophy works, and it works, not just for people on the left.
