I thought it was uncomfortably funny...dude shouldnt have gotten tasered, but he should have chilled out a bit.

Reminds me of the UCLA incident with the Arab student. These guys probably don't deserved to be tasered but are asking for it when they start yelling and looking for attention when they are being apprehended. Whenever you're in a public situation with cops, it's common logic to be as cooperative as possible...

    1. They pulled the kid away too quick.
    2. If he didn't want to get tasered, he should have just let them walk him out.

These events are pretty much photo ops with softball questions from supporters. It sounds like the guy asked multiple attacking questions (instead of one) and went off on a rant before his mic was turned off. I don't think he was an innocent victim - he knew exactly what would happen to him and it did (he was arrested). I don't think he could have predicted getting tased but you know what no one gave a **** for his smartass.

PS VT shouldn't have entered into the equation for force. Everyone should have passed through a metal detector. Otherwise there was a serious lapse of security.

It probably was excessive force and I had a lot of sympathy for the guy but the whole charade afterwards did cause a few chuckles. No one should start making a spectacle afterwards because you're only asking for trouble at that point.

Also, the "Don't tase me bro" and the guy cracking up in the back almost caused me to choke on my food.

HAHAHA< THEY SHOUDL HAVE STABBED HIM IN THE FACE WiTH A BRICK!!!

Thats what I would have liked! i wante them to take a nife and cut his intestines out and then flip him upside down!! Then i want them to cut deep into his theigh and pull out teh femoral artery without cutting it, but stretcht it out and tie it with his shoelaces so that if he streightens his legs it snaps in half!!!! AWESOME BRO!! after thaat they shuld fill ballons with maggots and make him swallow it, so if they pop in side him, teh maggots will like eat their way out. SHooting him would be too humane, they needed to haves hammer each of his fingers an toes and then force him to play piano or they tazer his balls.

    hes a tool and thats what tools shoulds get!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

i actually dont find this funny at all, its clear abuse of power by some dumb**** loser police, they should've let him ask and get his question answered, its just a question

i ****ing hate cops, low life bastards, i hope they get fired, or at least one day realize how terrible they are for being douchebag cops

we pay taxes to pay these idiots to tase a college student for asking a legit and real question. booooooooooooooo pigs

I was cringing. I was too embarrassed for that guy

Seriously though that's not what tasers are for. Heads must roll.

Some cops actually protect people, so they can enjoy paying their taxes.

The guy was an idiot. He overreacted too. It was all stupid and I'm sure the charges were dropped, but you gotta admit that it was a little funny.

When you pass a certain age, I think your view of cops will change. I know it did for me. Some of them are dicks, some of them have reasons to be dicks. Trying to squirm away from a bunch of cops and failing to comply with their requests isn't going to get you anywhere. They're not going to let you go just because you're yelling at them and trying to squirm away.

Should they have let him get his question answered? Yes. But this kid didn't help himself by trying to push cops off of him.

    Well said.

But then we wouldn't have this treasure.

ill agree that my opinion of cops will probably change one day, but seeing cops taser a college student at a discussion forum for asking a provocative question isn't gonna speed that change up

If it is the departments policy only to tase when an officer is in physical danger, then I think it is clear that the officers at the scene violated it.

They tasered him because he was being fighting with them, not because he asked a provocative question. If he would have just left quietly my guess is they were just going to escort him out of the building or auditorium.
