    Who said he wasn't?

It's not that you can be more inaccurate - high turnovers will get a PG benched pretty quickly in the NBA. It's that the larger court, and different rules (or at least with regards to how the refs call them), make it more difficult for defenses to guard.

Also, not to be argumentative, but I wouldn't say the TWolves were built with Rubio in mind. They're just a young team with a number of lotto picks. Pretty much every team in the league would benefit from Rubio's court vision and bball iq. Not to mention, as much as he's been discounted as a shooter, after tonight he's 4-6 from 3 and and 12-21 from the field overall. I'm sure his FG% will go down, but again, he seems smart there.

The one match that does seem perfect is Rubio and Adelman. Chalk that up to luck.

Shooting part is the most important part of the game in european basketball.

Way ahead of defense, rebounding, passing and athleticism

    and?

my point was that Nash's game would be impacted by the physical nature of European basketball.

Shooting also happens to be the most important part of NBA basketball as well.

In fact, it's also the most important part of street basketball.

Shooting is the most important part of basketball, end of story.

Take a look on Rubio and Jose Calderon on Spanish National Team and you will see that your theory is bull**** crap

    That's the difference

Did you ever watch Spanish national team play?

Did you ever watched how pass first PG is playing there?

Did you ever notice the difference between the pass first PG that can shoot from whereever he wants and a pass first PG with a limited shooting range?

Did you hear the names of Jasikevicius, Teodosic, Papaloukas?

They were the best point guards of the decade and probably the best EL players of the decade and all of them were lethal because of this combo. Rubio court-vision and talent level is way above them, but he wasn't able to deliver because a classic european sets are not useful to him

That sets are useful for the guys that can shoot from 1-4 positions, that can beat the zone, force opponent coach to use one on one D on you and than bury them individually

But his relatively larger than average position size will help him overcome some of those weaknesses kind of like Manu when he first came into the league. He has decent lateral speed. Deron Williams has barely any athleticism, but he has no problem being of the best Pg's in the league.

RTM, I'm not sure what you're arguing. That being able to shoot helps? No ****. That being able to shoot and pass is a good thing? Great analysis there dude. Players that can do more stuff are usually better? Shocking!! You might be surprised to learn this holds true on this side of the Atlantic as well.

My points are two fold. First, Rubio's game is more tailored for NBA ball than Euroball. Shooting aside - and he's done great in that category so far - he's a finesse player, from what I see. Shooting is important everywhere... Though you'll always find exceptions.

Second, despite his great shooting ability, Nash would likely have struggled in Euroleague, RELATIVE to how he's performed in the NBA. Whereas Deron, Chauncy tyPE players would adapt quicker, generally speaking.

wade was right about him in the video.. he sees plays before they happen and he makes the right passes almost everytime... that alley-oop pass in the first half was sick

Really don't see how this guy is being praised so highly after watching that highlights, any other rookies turning the ball over earlier on in the game like that and he would have been benched.

He simply is being given a better chance to play because he's Rubio.

Stop chillin' around Shane. It's a game. Sheesh

Anyway :p, Rubio has court vision and excellent passing no doubt. He is still raw and can become a championship PG if given the chance. Right now, I don't see him thriving in the pressures of the playoffs. At least not yet.
